What an amazing place to go to see and hear about the history of Terrell and those who were once stationed here, not to mention the fact that at one point P.O.W.'s were there. Take time and go visit you will walk away from this experience with a greater appreciation for the founding Fathers!

I never realized how rich the history of Terrell was until I learned about the BFTS. An absolute must visit if you are in that area. A unique and emotionally moving experience. Be sure to talk to whoever is on working that day and they can give you some of the 'real' moments that you can't just get from the museum tour alone. Incredible stories to hear about such incredible heroes.

Terrell has a very special slice of its history that, surprisingly, many people in the region do not even know about. In fact, some lifelong Terrell residents do not even know about the part the city played in World War II.Nestled on Silent Wings Boulevard near a series of hangars is the No. 1 British Flying Training School Museum. The museum houses the history of Royal Air Force, Canadian and American cadets training on AT-6 planes and a link trainer during WW II.In fact, one day, the museum is going to house a restored AT-6. Since spring 2013, a squadron of volunteers has been working on putting together an AT-6 from various parts and pieces of the planes used during the war and training. The plane being built has been named "Miss Pauline," after Pauline Bond Baxter, who was a link trainer during WW II.The museum also houses, pictures, uniforms, weapons and a section on Texas' very own hero, Audie Murphy.Every year, the museum holds the Flights of Our Fathers Fly-In in which vintage WW II aircraft fly to Terrell and people get a glimpse into the past. Even a C-47 that served during the war is flown to the event every year.If you want to get a taste of not only Terrell's history of its role during WW II, but the country's as well, visit the museum.

Who would have thought that Terrell, Texas played such an important role in Britain's fight against the Germans in WWII?! This small jewel of a museum tells the compelling story of the RAF cadets who trained in Terrell and who became such a integral part of the community. One even became mayor many years later. Excellent docents help bring the story to life. Well worth a stop!

This is worth a stop if you are ever in Terrell. Small museum all about the British pilots who trained in Terrell, TX from 1941-1945 WWII. History of a forgotten part of American and British history from WWII. Don't forget to visit the Oak lawn Cemetery in Terrell to see the graves of the British pilots who died training in Terrell.
