the sherman museum

I enjoyed my visit and tour through the museum. The employees were so nice and informative. I enjoyed walking through and seeing all the items on display.

Bring the kids and enjoy the intimacy of The Sherman Museum. Whether for Dino Days in August and November, or one of their other exhibits, you and your kids or family will have a great time up close and personal with history. It is located in the old Sherman Library build with a grant from Carnegie Foundation in 1914.

A very small place with a dinosaur display upstairs and a history display of the area downstairs. Had a couple of interesting things.

A nice afternoon to learn some history of Sherman and early Texas. There was a very good exhibit on Dinosaurs..with hands on activities for children.

To me, this is the best museum in the Texoma area. Throughout the year, they bring in various exhibits to satisfy a wide variety of interests. The museum staff has always been helpful and knowledgeable about just about any topic or questions. I am a history buff, and the museum has always come through in helping me get answers to any questions that have come up during my explorations of the Sherman area or even around the county. If they don't know the answers, they always know where to find it. I recommend getting on their mailing list to receive advanced notices on upcoming exhibits, lectures, or events.

A great place to learn the history of Sherman and see something educational--there have been exhibits over the Civil War, the Interurban, and the history of Cowboys in Texas. There are several events each month that range from lunch lectures with different speakers to children's workshops.
