We took a few country roads to get to this winery and loved every minute spent here! The tasting room is very nice, and we were pleasantly greeted upon arriving. I really liked the outdoor area and if the weather would have permitted, we probably would have spent it outside! They had about a few options of wines for us to try and we picked the 5 we wanted to try the most! They were all very good. My favorites were Bridal Blush,Tioja and Harmony Ridge... I ended up becoming a wine club member as their were really good perks to joining. I picked 6 bottles and that was my commitment for the year (which is great in comparison to most places). Since it wasn't busy, our hostess took us on a brief tour in the back area and we took pictures, signed the wall (where everyone leaves a little signature) viewed the barrels and the plaque with the other wine club member names~ It was a lot of fun. I really enjoyed the interaction with our hostess, the wine was delicious and the location is convenient, especially for a small town! Can't wait to return...

Wedding Oak is a delightful place to visit. The staff invariably know a great deal more about wine than I do, which, admittedly is not difficult. They bear up well under the burden of my ignorance and cheerfully answer all my amateur questions. I am insufficiently sophisticated to be an adequate judge of their wine - I know what I like and what I don't like. I like their wine, their ambiance, and their courtesy. Nelson PageSan Saba

The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. We sat out in their patio area. She recommended a wine they have that beer drinkers usually like, and she was right. Go there almost every time we are in San Saba. We went as a couple, but would be an awesome place to hang out with friends.

We stopped here on a day out in San Saba while staying in Brownwood. We loved ALL the wines! A small little winery with a little art show you can walk through with your wine glass. She gave us a free glass of wine because it was our anniversary! We definitely took home a bottle of wine but will be ordering more!

Its a little out of the way in San Saba, Texas but if you are anywhere near, its worth going out of your way. The wines are better than most Texas wines, especially the reds (i particularly like the sangiovese). Its also located in a lovely space with room for banquets and parties. I highly recommend a stop in if you are in the area!

Does anyone know the story behind the name of Wedding Oak Winery in San Saba, Texas? We sure didn’t, and to be honest, when planning the trip, we didn’t even think twice about the name as we see very unique names for wineries all the time. What a cool surprise to learn that there is a HUGE oak tree in town that is over 400 years old and has for hundreds of years been a spot for weddings and other ceremonies. Even more interesting is that where some of the old limbs used to be are now markings that resemble a heart. No wonder so many wedding have been held under that old oak tree!Okay, enough about the tree! Let’s talk about the winery! It is just as interesting! The decor is very nice, with beautiful wood everywhere and tasteful decorations. Our host for the tasting and tour was the tasting room manager, Marcus. Marcus was an excellent tour guide and information source! We learned that the winery has only been open since June 2012 and used to be an old mercantile building. They produce about 5,500 cases per year currently, but are set up to grow up to 10,000 cases. They have their own vineyards outside of town and also source grapes from the High Plains and the Hill Country, and produce 100% Texas wines. And boy, are they good!If you are in this part of Texas, you definitely should take a few minutes to slow down and come visit Wedding Oak Winery. Check their website or give them a call if you are interested in a wine dinner. And don’t forget to check their calendar often, especially in the Spring and Summer, as I’m sure they use their beautiful patio for entertainment quite frequently! If you have been to Wedding Oak Winery leave us a comment below and let us know your experience. We would love to hear about the wine dinners!!!Happy Trails!

I have to say, this really is the most enjoyable winery we have been to, and we have been to most in the Hill Country. The old buildings have been beautifully renovated and this really adds to the pleasure of tasting some of their luscious wines. Our favorite is the Bridal Blush, but all we tried were excellent! All of the staff were very friendly and helpful, but we especially enjoyed our time with Heidi. She's very knowledgeable and a lot of fun, too! I'm sure we'll treat ourselves to another visit to Wedding Oak!

Comfy chairs and nice patio if you want to stay and sip a glass. Tasting at $6 a person abit pricey compared to other tasting rooms we've visited for the size of the taste. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable And made the experience fun. Wines were light and good.

My daughter and I shared a "Girls Weekend" together. We stayed at a great B & B in Llano Texas. San Saba was just a 30 minute drive from where we were staying, so we decided to head to the wine tasting room of the Wedding Oak Winery. The staff is amazing... talk to Heidi... she will tell you all you need to know about their wine. Then taste it all!! I loved the selection and came home with both the Tioja and the Sangiovse. I already want more! If you are close... take the time to check this tasting room out. It is unexpected Texas bliss!

Detouring off our normal drive home to Dallas my husband and I happened into San Saba, this little town has a certain welcoming chime to it. We saw the blue Wedding Oak Winery sign coming into town and of course we had to stop. Who would have thought, in the center of Texas, in a town of 3000 people a winery would be right off the un-beaten path. We parked behind the winery and walked through the beautiful back patio, everything was green and blooming, that's when we got really exited to see the inside. We were told by Nikki that the building was restored and the winery was only a little over two years old. Even though it was quite busy we got person attention, which was wonderful. We did the full tasting and every single wine was great. My husband and I are predominately red wine drinkers but the whites were good as well. We bought 2 bottles and were on our way out when the tasting room manager, Heidi, asked if we would like to see the back and the harvesting if grapes that was going on, what an added bonus. The wine maker was even move enough to explain the process. We left happy and with the upmost confidence we WILL be Back. If you are any where near the area this is a must stop, you will not be disappointed.

This past weekend we had the wonderful experience of discovering a winery where you might not expect one. My wife and I were in San Saba for our son's wedding. We knew his reception was to be held at the winery, which is really a very nice tasting room located on the main street in San Saba. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Mike the owner was great to talk to and made sure everything was better than perfect. And Heidi carried it all out. And then there was the wine. Never expected such exceptional wines, especially the reds, to come from the hills of Texas. I do not know when my wife and I will get back (almost 1,200 miles) but somehow we will.

Not a vineyard, but a Wine Tasting Room in the center of town. Nice appointed Tasting Room, with a pleasant back patio to sit at if you wish. Wines were excellent, staff very pleasant. It was my wifes birthday, and when I said something about it as reason we were out travelling, staff person offered her a complimentary glass of whatever wine she wished to have. Will definitely come back here again to try more wines. We stuck with the lighter whites this trip, all were very good, will try the reds next trip. There is a tasting fee, I think it's $6.00 per person.

Started here for a top of the hill, roll out the barrels wine tasting tour. Did not know we had to purchase tickets online. My bad. Chance for customer service persons to shine. Heidi did just that, superstar. Let us use computer and even print off ticket, took a few minutes, and we were tasting wine in no time. Forgot other staffs name that assisted us. I was visiting wineries with my wife as it was our first anniversary, this was the only place all weekend that did anything, free glass of wine. Kuddos the them. The owner or winemaker was there and was top class and very personable. Best staff in Hill Country, worth the drive out of Fredericksburg.
