The volunteer turned on the video for everyone entering..I grew up in this county but never really visited. The museum had extensive history about the area with some authentic pictures. I liked the books in the gift shop, but they only take cash. And then when I did pay cash..the volunteer did not have change

I love this town. I only know it exists because my mother lives in El Paso and she had heard about it at work. It reminds me of Tombstone. The museum is donation only and it is very informative about not just The Camino Real but US History. The staff is kind and more than willing to answer questions about the town. I had such a great time that I even bought a passport that I plan to get stamped at every single national park that I visit across the US. This location is also the information center.

This delightful museum is donation only, and what a gem it is! You'd have to do extensive research at UT-El Paso or other sites to find what is available here. I highly recommend it--and do be generous with your donation!
