You can shop here, beautiful handmade glassware. You can also make your own ornaments. A place to sit and watch others too. The people here are very friendly. Also have specials, like today people were making their own glass hearts.

My daughters and their children along with family friends with children went to Salado during their Christmas Stroll Weekend. We had called ahead (preferred)to schedule a session to do our annual ornament glass blowing. For some in our group, it was their first experience and they had fun picking out the colors and then watching their ornament grow bigger when they blew into the tube attached to blowpipe with the the blob of hot molten glass on the other end.The glass artists were very experienced and explained the how the process worked during each stage from where the hot blob of molten glass come from to the way they apply the colors, to how hard they needed to blow on the pipes to expand their ornament. The last steps were to make a glass hook holder attached to the top of the ornament and then the ornaments went into a kiln at 900 degrees to cure for 24 hours. We picked up the ornaments the next day and all were amazed with all the beautiful ornaments especially when they saw their name and the year 2014 engraved on the top of the ornament. We are already planning for next years trip since our group grows larger every year.

It took 2 years but I was finally able to get two spots to participate in their ornament glassblowing event. It was a fun experience. You get to choose your colors and watch as your creation is made. Then you get to blow some air into your creation. Once it's made, it takes a day to cool off so you do have to come back for it. The anticipation of what the finally look would be was exciting.I will go back and try their pumpkin blowing event once I find an opening again. I recommend this to family, friend or anyone who just wants to try it out or lovers of art. They also have art work you can buy.

Stopped in just for fun while hanging out in Salado.Friendly staff willing to share their craft with even the casual visitor.Loved watching them blow glass while explaining what and why they were doing what they were doing.

A window looks out into the room where glassworks are being made. Could have went inside the working room but chose to watch from the gift shop. They do offer classes too.

I was disappointed that I missed getting a chance to do the reserved appointment for "blow your own pumpkin." I hear they fill up really fast. The shop offered a drop by and make one first come first serve. It was so much fun. The lady that runs the shop, I believe her name was Sara, was wonderful. The guys in the back were very conversational and really seemed to enjoy what they were doing. I thought it was a little expensive to make the pumpkin, but it's funny how proud I feel of my little pumpkin! It was definitely worth the $35. It was a most enjoyable experience and I hope to do it again at Christmas when they offer the blow your own ornament. This place is really a keeper for Salado!

Took my mom visiting from Canada to Salado and we visited the Salado Glassworks shop. We could sit on low bleachers and watch the artisans making glass pumpkins for the season. They offer "Make your own pumpkins" workshops on some Saturdays and since the "class" for the following Saturday was full and my mom was leaving before the next one was offered, Gail (the owner) offered for us to make them as a walk-in! We chose the colors we wanted and helped blow the glass for the same price as the class they offered. After a day they can be picked up and we were pleasantly surprised at the result. Our names and date written on the bottoms as well. My friends and I are going back to make another one during the proper class times! Thanks to the guys at this shop, my mom has a wonderful memory of this trip and a beautiful pumpkin she helped make!

Salado Glassworks makes some of the most beautiful hand blown glass objects in the area. Their work is high quality, artistic and so original. You can watch them work. Or you can browse the selection and buy an original work of art at an affordable price. I've met the artists a couple of times. they are such a nice group of people. Be sure to stop here when you are in Salado.

My wife and I were in Salado for a getaway from the rat race and we stumbled across Salado Glassorks. Now, you know that with an address on Peddler's Alley in Salado that you don't know what you're going to get, but you go anyway because that's what you do in a little artsy bed-and-breakfast town.It was a lazy morning and we had the owner, Gail Allard II all to ourselves. He was engaging and friendly, showing us the furnaces in the back that were thankfully powered down during the heat of the summer. He explained how he gets the glass color from Germany and even showed us an "oops" piece that broke in literally the last act of a 45-minute molding. We found a piece that couldn't have been more perfectly colored for what we wanted if we had made a custom request. We posted that photo. If you're ever in Salado, take the time to find Peddler's Alley and Salado Glassworks. You might get lucky, too.

So happy I contacted them in advance as they are so happy to help and want you there. I actually called another local place and they were rude and said no one else let you participate so I am glad I didn't listen. This "made" our whole road trip of travels! Our teenagers were not only thrilled but also inspired by the talent and eagerness from the guys to share and teach what you were actually doing and what it entailed. We will not only be back with rest of our family and friends in the future but also will make this a family tradition for years to come!Amazing!JulieCorpus Christi, TX

Our family found our stop at this shop to be a nice experience. Not only do they have their handblown products for sale, they also have an area where you can watch them use their skills to make their products. Beautiful things and quite a variety of designs.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Salado Glassworks. We were able to sit in the studio to watch the blowers make several items. They showed the different methods to add colors to the glass. It was especially enjoyable to me since I collect blown glass art.I absolutely recommend to anyone that is interested in this fascinating process.

A small shop filled to the brim with beautiful glass treasures with a great range of prices and creations. Where else can you peruse the selection while sipping a beer from an ice cold, hand blown mug?! These guys were so informative and friendly...they invited us to come back the next day to watch them blow the glass. We will definitely go back and stock up on some great gifts for others (and even more for ourselves). :)
