We found this museum by accident one day and were surprised with the amount of history that they had about our city and how well organized it was.

A well maintained historical mission. The museum's displays are presented in such a manner to draw ones attention. The attention to detail is seen throughout the museum. Definitely a must for Mansfield residents.

This small but well-organized museum tells the history of not only Mansfield, Tx, but also of the surrounding area. There are many interesting artifacts. Verne, the volunteer on duty, was open, interesting, and even helped us choose our dining place.

A little gem hidden away in downtown. My step-daughter and I visited on a rainy afternoon and she just loved looking at all the memorabilia as much as I did. We learned so much about our local history and really enjoyed the time spent there. This is a small museum but packed with interesting pieces that all have a story. Well worth an hour or two of your time. It may even inspire you to get more involved in this great little city.

If you visit the Big Cities of Dallas and Fort Worth, with their somewhat glorified cowboy-centered tourist spots, you might find it interesting to include a local historical museum such as the one in Mansfield, south of Arlington, to see how Texas towns really developed. This small museum, located in a historic building on the main street, has two floors of well-organized exhibits that relate the town's history. A flyer available at the museum provides a historical overview of the town and a map of historical residences. The volunteer staff we met were friendly and informative. There is even a vintage elevator that makes the second floor accessible to people who have difficulty negotiating stairs.
