Lone Pint Brewery, located in the small town of Magnolia, Texas, is an oasis of fine beer on the outskirts of Houston. The business is relatively new but it has already captured the attention of craft beer fans in the area and has been recognized for brewing some of the finest ales around.A visit to Lone Pint Brewery will usually take a couple of hours. Unlike many other breweries, Lone Pint Brewery allows guests to walk around where they like, including into the area where the beer is brewed. You can check out the equipment, ask questions, etc., all with a delicious glass of ale in hand. The routine at Lone Pint Brewery is similar to that of other breweries when it comes to the beer. You pay a flat fee up front and receive a glass and tokens. You can then trade in your tokens for the beer of your choosing. Lone Pint Brewery will let you sample first, to make sure you like a specific beer, before you commit to a full glass. You can then continue to walk around, chat with the brewing staff, or relax at one of the long picnic tables. If you like, you can also bring your own lawn chairs and even your dog, as the brewery is dog friendly. Lone Pint Brewery doesn’t sell any food and there are no food trucks, at least not yet. However, the friendly owners/staff grill food and serve it, along with snacks, to the guests at no extra charge. You are free to leave a tip, but there is no obligation. As the business grows, I could see the time when Lone Pint invites food trucks so that guests can purchase whatever they like but for now, the food is grilled and served fresh and complimentary.Lone Pint Brewery isn’t very large and the setup is a little unusual for a brewery. It was built from a former car repair shop and the space is somewhat tight. But the delicious ale and friendly personnel will make you quickly forget any of the minor shortcomings. It’s a nice little brewery and worth a visit if you happen to find yourself in Magnolia and in need of some amazing hand- crafted beer.
