The staff at the visitor center were very helpful, and it is a good place to get oriented to what is available in Jefferson.

It's a pretty big place they have for the community. In 2011 they were able to use it as a shelter during the Bear Creek fires. Several people lost their homes and didn't have anywhere to go.

They have a lot of literature about the local attractions. They also have flyers and posters on the outside windows that advertise current events. The restroom facility is nice. The receptionist was obviously a retired volunteer, and did not know as much about things going on as a tour guide would.

They let you know about everything there is to do in Jefferson, restaurants, museums, train, and boat rides.

We rented the end room for our mid-size wedding and it was perfect! It worked well and got all my deposits back without a hassle. We left it clean and neat just how we got it! The people are nice and helpful. If you have an event this is a great place to have it!

The visitor's center employee was friendly and answered our questions. She did not go out of her way to let us know anything about the town or it's history. AND, if you visit this town, be aware that NONE of the businesses will let you use their bathroom save a few eating establishments. You have to walk to the PUBLIC restroom when needed. It's quite a hassle.

This was our 'first' stop once we arrived in Jefferson. The lady who works there was so informative and you could tell she loves her job - she even said so! There are all the brochures you will need to get around in this neat little town. So make it your first stop if you're new to Jefferson!

We saw a great concert at the Jefferson Transportation and Visitor Center during our stay in Jefferson. Very nice facility!

VERY helpful here. We came on a bad day -- Monday and Tuesdays are a terrible time to visit (we found out) because a lot of restaurants, shops and activities are closed. The lady here got us in touch with the proprietor of the House of the Seasons that usually only gives tours on the weekend...and we were able to work out a tour Tuesday afternoon instead.

We were strolling around the Historic Distric and came across the visitor center (next to the rail road "station"). No one was there, but it was unlocked on a Sunday morning. It was clean, air conditioned, and had what seemed to be ALL of the brochures for Jefferson attractions. Going there helped us plan out the rest of our day.
