I have since moved back to Ohio, but spent many days on the lake during the 1990s. Decent boat ramps and fishing was good then. Early in the morning, I could spot 4-5 ft gars near the surface. Yes, it is probably more crowded now, so do watch for the intoxicated and just plain stupid. I Worked at the local hospital and saw some gruesome accidents from the lake, so be careful and enjoy.

Mostly 80's, early 90's I spent time here as I lived nearby. Fished here many times as Lake Lewisville was the closest lake to me , but more dangerous due to overcrowding with jet skis, fast boats etc;. Only a spot for fisherman in the early morning or night in the summer. Grapevine on the other hand, not so crowded and lots of good fishing. There are also several good trails around the lake for hiking or mountain biking. If you want to avoid the bigger crowds go to Grapevine.

Big Daddy's Grill is the best on Grapevine Lake. Great place to sit and watch the boats come in. Order the double cheeseburger. It's an old-fashioned smash burger that will leave you wanting no more. The place is BYOB so stop at a convenience store if you prefer an adult beverage. They have local live music as well weather permitting

We had a lakeside walk on a sunny day and it was nice experience. It seems quite popular destination for boats. The locality is also nice and surrounded by greenery/woods. There are some benches as well in the woods where one can park and enjoy.

We rented a boat at Scott's landing and cruise the lake from the dam to as far west as we could get before hitting the bottom. There was very few boats and a couple of sailboats. Lots of big homes on the north side but pretty native on the south side. Worth a day trip. If you like fishing lakes it seems to have some good formation.

We rented Kayaks here after a very difficult time finding this entrance. The kayaks were $20 for a 2 hour rental, and we had to pay $5/car to park. The lifevests, kayaks and oars were in very bad shape, and they had no waterproof pouches for keys and phones. It was a beautiful calm day when we started, but being a large lake, a wind blew up after about a half hour making the paddling very difficult. Because the lake is large, and the coastline mostly undeveloped, there really wasn't much to look at! and I ordinarily love kayaking.

Great water sport Texas lake but not so good when lake levels are low like they are now. Beach on far west end is worth the trip in the summer. When the lake levels are up it is a fantastic bass fishing lake.

We were charged by a rude guy to park. Lots of people just hanging out in parking area. Lots of people just wondering around, questionable characters!? We walked down to the area where the water was, we seen broke glass, bottles, can , cloths, shoes overall so much trash. Seem like cleaner area may be only by boat? Overall dirty, not impressed

Good size lake, with not too many boaters on it. The was boat rentals, jet skis and sailboats. Big enough to ski on, but not too big as to get lost.

There is not much to do but I still had fun, I came here with some friends. There is no fee for entering the lake on the park we went (Murrel park) .Only if you plan to camp they charge you. There are grills to start a BBQ right on the lake.Swimming is also fun to do but the water was so murky , I did some snorkeling but there isn't much to see under the water there is no visibility. There are also trails to hike or bike around unfortunately we didn't get to them. Nice place to relax and enjoy the sunset.

Located minutes away from DFW International Airport, Grapevine Lake provides fun activities for people of all ages. You can take a relaxing sailboat cruise, rent power boats or reserve a party barge with all your friends. Friday night fireworks from Memorial Day to Labor Day caps off the evening in a terrific way!

This lake is a hidden TX gem!!! Just visited for a second time for a birthday picnic and enjoyed!! We were able to swim, take pics, and catch the sunset. The entrance fee is $5 per vehicle. Plenty of picnic tables, grills, kids playground, and restroom available.

A good lake to visit, its a bit small but the parks on the south side are fantastic and great for a Sunday afternoon picnic and relaxation. The bike trails on the north side are great, especially being so close to the DFW area, it was a great place to escape and to get into Nature.

Got off work early and spent the afternoon here walked around quiet table areas to sit and talk ... If it's windy though it can be a little chilly take a jacket..
