Whether a couple in a car or the whole family in a van (all 13 of us), Prairie Lights is a good place to see Christmas lights with many special themes. Snacks and Hot Chocolate near the end too. 3rd year we have enjoyed this.

I really enjoyed the Christmas Carol in lights, and the Texas pride lights. Wasn't too sold on the "Christmas Under the Sea" though. Still, I enjoyed it. I would recommend it.

We have been going to Prairie lights for a few years now and they have improved and added new lights each year. Get there early to try avoid long line to get in or just expect to wait and spend time with family. They have a laser show but have never done that. They also have a walk through light section that cost more but is great for photos. They also have Santa and pictures are only $15 and you get to choose from four layouts. You can do a little shopping for gifts and enjoy some popcorn hot chocolate or cider. They have a merry go round and a ride like the teacups that spin around. Overall a fun time and the cost is $20 per car th the extra for walk through lights and pictures with Santa are worth the memories.

I went to see the lights on a Tuesday thinking it wouldn't be that packed since it was weekday, I was wrong. It took me 3 hrs to get to the entrance. I had a vehicle full and everyone was getting annoyed. The lights were cool to see, but not 3 hr wait cool. Once we made it inside, the restrooms were horribly dirty. For the amount of people that go through that place, it doesn't seem they clean them as often as they should. Overall, it's a cool thing to see if you are willing to wait that long.

We waited two and a half hours to get in, only to be rewarded with an hour and a half of mediocre light displays at best. This was such a let down!!!

I would recommend going on a week night because it is less crowded, but either way it is worth the way. My family loves this and we go every year.

I can't believe I haven't wrote about this place before. My family and I go there every year. It is so much fun and it a wonderful family night out. We always play our Christmas movie and enjoy the crisp air while enjoying the lights. They have TONS of cool scenes made completely of Christmas lights. At the halfway point there is a little shopping center where you can buy food or souviners. They also have a little musical show that lasts maybe 20-30 minutes. We have seen that two times and really enjoyed it. One tip: they tend to put this on Groupon so try and wait around for that, then you can save a few bucks!! OH AND also, go EARLY like if it opens at 8:00 get there at 8:00. Otherwise, you get stuck in this horrendous LONG line to get into the attraction.

Although the price is expensive if you dont have a discount, and the lines can be long, it is worth it. Fantastic displays! The best part (which costs an extra fee per person) is walking through the lighted forest. It is Magical. A real Christmas treat. Get there right at sunset to avoid the lines. There is a free childrens ride area too

The Prairie Lights drive through park always is new and exciting. Each year I take the lights tour and enjoy the mid-way stop at the concessions & rides. The Grand Prairie Summit Senior Club offers a bus tour each year to the Prairie Lights. It's always fun to sing, laugh, & enjoy the friendship with all the seniors. Looking forward to the 2014 Prairie Lights tour.

I was at Prairie lights on January 1st 2014. I had heard about it so was curious as to what it would be like and I wasn't disappointed I actually liked the displays. I thought they were cute and innovative and some of them represented action occurring where a man took a lay up and dunked a basketball or a dwarf was blowing up a rock in a mining sequence!WHAT IS PRAIRIE LIGHTS? it is a light show located in the city of Grand Prairie around Lynn creek park. It is a two mile drive past over 500 - 600 themed well lit color displays.I starts on Thanksgiving day and runs till Jan 1st , and they have been known to extend it a week beyond as well. There are over 4 million lights used it is pretty awesome!WHEN TO VISIT?well you have to be pretty strategic about deciding when to visit. On Friday,Saturday Sunday and holidays it costs 30$ per car. On Mon to Thur, it costs 20$ per car. it is obviously more crowded on the weekends and holidays, give yourself about an hour and a half to drive through plus the crowds, the going can get slow. TIPS: if you can get to the gates close to 6 pm, it is sufficiently dark to see the lights well. Wear something that is warm, coat gloves, scarf the works because it can get super cold and windy. You can park and get off at the Holiday village where there are a few rides for the kids ( overpriced really not worth it), a few stalls selling trinkets and coffee and some food.HOLIDAY VILLAGE:Holiday Village is midway in the drive. Do stop here because they had a pretty neat display of lights titled the Arctic Tundra that you would walk around and view. They had some pretty neat displays , many bears in different poses, igloos, seals, Eskimos, reindeer etc. I BELIEVE YOU HAVE TO PAY SEPARATE TO GET INTO THIS AREA to see the lights (I don't remember I could be wrong). A second set of light displays in the same area was called the North Pole Circus. I had exhibits like the joker, candy man, strong elf, snake elf and tight rope walker and the world's tallest elf.Once you warm up with a cup of coffee you continue driving and looking at exhibits on either side of the road. You go through Santa's coal mine where you see lil dwarfs digging and mining and blasting rock searching for diamonds. The tunnel of lights is pretty spectacular! I liked that the best.WOULD I GO AGAIN?UMMMM. yes I am curious as what they will come back with the next year and my curiosity will get the better of me so I will be back in December. One really has to appreciate the effort several people took to plan the displays and implement them into working displays spread across 2 miles of display I thoroughly enjoyed it.I hope you find this review useful and like the pics I posted.:)

Not at all what we expected. Tilt up, framed light displays like you buy in the store. Cheesy amusment park set up to make money off little kids parents when the kids get bored with the dull lighting. There could have been pretty decorated trees or something to make it feel like someone actually cared about Christmas, or anything other than the $40 gate fee.
