Just finding the winery is half the fun, for it is nestled amidst an old neighborhood in Del Rio. The staff is very friendly, and the wines beyond expectations. Different price levels of wine tasting are available. A quaint historic winery.

Be sure to take time to enjoy the flight of wines. Staff help you with your choices and take home enough to share. Love the photos and location. A must-see-and-do!

located in a picturesque portion of Old Town Del Rio, this is Texas' oldest winery, established in 1883. A very small visitor center where you can select either 5 or 12 wines to sample (for a small fee). They also have recently begun to produce and sell olive oil.

This is a nice stop but it is small and without a lot of fanfare. Very small vineyard, very small two room place. A variety of wines, enough to sample but nothing to do and no where to sit. Worth a stop for the curious with time to kill and relax.

have visited wineries all over Europe and the U.S. This little "Family Winery" rates right up there with family wineries anywhere. If you are lucky, you can happen in while Tommy (the owner) is in. They have a nice selection of wines. I especially liked the Tempranillo. Their Rosé was interesting. It is very light in color, but surprisingly full bodied! The young ladies pouring were pleasant. One was more versed in the product, but EVERYBODY is a "new person" sometime. It was a very nice stop. We brought some wine home for later! If you like wine, this is a good stop!

Free wineglass with a full tasting! The wine is decent and varies through the year. The have some interesting ones! It's a very cute winery with a lot of history, but not a lot to see. The people that are working there are very polite and professional- nice to bring out of town friends here!

Heard about this winery at our hotel and found out it was the oldest winery in Texas. Very cool! The wines were all around pretty good, and featured some I'd never heard of before. Their reds were dry and pretty smooth. It's a pretty little winery just off the main street in Del Rio, so definitely a must if you're in the area and enjoy wine!

This is a nice little winery, set in the green zone of Del Rio. It's surrounded by large trees and greenery. A good selection of wines to taste. They have a nice outdoor setting to sit and enjoy a bottle of wine. I signed up to join the wine club and be allowed to purchase limited wine selections offered in the Fall.

This was our 3rd visit to the Val Verde winery, and it just keeps getting better. They had a new wine we liked, Sierra Madre, and an old one that is only produced every few years --the Lenoir. It's a treat to hear about the oldest continuously operating winery in Texas!

The winery was close to our hotel, so my husband and I decided to check it out. It is small, with a limited selection and just a smattering of accessories for the wine lover. I asked to taste one of the two white wines they make and the young lady poured me what was barely a mouthful to try. It was just as well since it had no body to it and was kind of bitter...almost like it was on the verge of going bad. They are supposedly known for their port, so I did buy some of that since I use it in sauces and figured it probably wouldn't ruin anything I cooked. The young lady that was at the counter was not conversational at all and it would have been nice, even if the wine was bad, to have her tell a bit about the history of the winery. I wouldn't say don't go, but I definitely wouldn't encourage someone to go.

Great wine selection...very nice service and wonderful true TX hospitality. Got to sample several wines and can't wait for next supply of olive oil...it goes fast so can't wait to taste.

We visited my daughter n son in law at Laughlin Airforce base which is in Del Rio not much to do in this city but there is this gem.Nice place tucked back In residesial area! We did a wine tasting $5.00 for 5 then had a glass a wine outside on the picnic tables which was right next to the grape vine field. Wine is delicious!

A nice selection of wines and some very good tasting ones. They also have olive oil at times that is very good.

Saw this in one of our guide books and looked interesting. Went inside after finding the winery by asking around. The young lady inside who was doing the wine tasting and sales was excellent. She knows her product and was not forceful but polite and patient. We bought wine of varying types and it was delicious. We like sweeter wines and they had wine that fit the bill exactly. Enjoyed the experience and the wine. Very good visit.

This winery is home to my all-time favorite Port! It is the oldest continually open winery in the entire state, but it is very, very small. I wouldn't necessarily drive hours out of my way to stop here (considering Del Rio is hours away from everything), but if you are passing through or going to Amistad you should definitely stop in for a tour and a tasting (which is very reasonably priced for getting to sample all the wines including the ports). The gift shop on-site has some great items, especially if you are looking for a gift. Overall it is definitely worth a stop if you are in the area!
