Not good value for money, its very small and of limited interest.probably more sutable for school trips than for adults, having read the discriptive we expected to see more on local things but the bigist part is dedicated to rock and mineral samples and general fosils.Would have liked to see as said lore local things

My spouse and I visited the museum and was pleasantly surprised. Admission is reasonable @ $5.00 ea. There was an Ice Age Exhibit that contained much information and displays. The fossils and rocks are also interesting. The is a chuck wagon and cotton exhibit discussing the Brazos Valley. There is also an area with aquariums with non-venomous snakes, turtles, spiders and hissing cockroaches geared toward youth. We were through in ~2 hours and I read most everything.

While small, this place definitely provides some interesting and varied exhibits. Particularly enjoyed the live animals (snakes, cockroaches, lizards, turtles, etc). Kept a 3 year entertained for almost an hour. The staff is very friendly. Definitely check it out if you are in the area and need to something interesting to do.

There is something for everyone of all ages. The exhibits are very interesting and very varied. The turtle that is huge is something that you do not want to miss!!!

As we were trying to decide what attraction to visit, I told my husband that the reviews said it small but good and had some ship stuff. That was enough for him to want to go. As we pulled up, there were LOTS of cars in the parking lot and a large building. My husband says...I thought you said this was small. The building has some sort of convention hall. Of the hundreds of cars, ZERO people other than us were in the museum the entire visit. The term "VERY small" would be more accurate description of the museum itself. It is one main room with a side room of animals. As we walked up and my husband saw The Monitor (ironsides), he became very interested. He enjoyed the museum the most because of that display. All in the same room are a hodgepodge of dinosaurs, animals, crystals, chuck wagon, and ironsides. My husband was also impressed with the out fittings on the chuck wagon. He said he had not seen one as well dressed as that one was. The Monitor display had interesting artifacts including a early 1700's cannon. The extra room had live snakes, lizards and turtles.

The Iron Clads exibit was very good and included a few relics from the periord. The fossils and frontier exibits were were interesting as well. This is a small museum.

The current set of exibits involving the Astin family, fossils, and many other things of local interest, is great. The living collections, especially the bee hive, are very interesting.
