pinnacles

We were in Shenandoah the last week of July. We had the place to ourselves. Some of the National Parks are crawling with so many people you feel like you are at the mall. Shenandoah is expansive and even if you don't wander down a long path...nice picnic areas like Pinnacle are a great place to rest and enjoy the beautiful wildflowers and butterflies! We had the whole picnic ground to ourselves!

Beautiful views from this lovely picnic stop. Picnic tables, Restrooms, and a nice portion of the AP trail. I hiked a short distance on the trail here. As you face west, go left for the trail portion I walked. This is the pinnacles on the west side, not the overlook, which has lovely views as well.
