The gracious ladies who gave us a tour of this historic War Between the States site were exceptionally friendly and quite knowledgeable. Do not miss this if you are anywhere in the area. However, as with all venues when touring, be sure to check ahead for current hours of operation. On street parking is plentiful. You will not be disappointed!

We came to this area for a spur of the moment get away. Stonewall Jackson/Civil war buffs. Very disappointed that this attraction was closed on weekends! How do you close history?

A good place to visit if you're a big history buff, otherwise no. Not much here to see. If you are visiting Winchester and want to know about its history, this is a good civil war info center.

Amazing! Our guide was excellent and let us take pictures. He was very knowledgeable, and humorous! He let us go at our own pace (we closed the place on the day we were there!)The history of the house and the passion the our guide had for the house and the respect for General Jackson was experience we will always remember! Thanks and keep up the great work!

The museum has an impressive collection of artifacts of this famous general. The staff is very knowledgeable and willing to share their knowledge of information. My only knock on my visit is that no pictures are allowed and there is no booklet that contains photo's of all of the main artifacts. The museum contains Jackson's desk, chairs, his wife's piano, sword, bible and many other artifacts. If you are a Civil War or Stonewall Jackson student, this museum is worth a stop.

Stonewall Jackson's headquarters is a must-see attraction as part of your tour of Stonewall's Valley Campaign. The guides are extremely knowledgeable and several of Stonewall's personal items are on display. His campaign desk and chest are especially noteworthy pieces of the collection.

Friendly, knowledgable tour guides told us many little tidbits we wouldn't have known without their tour. It was thorough but we would have liked to peruse the artifacts a little more, but the tour had to move on. It is part of a 3 home collection that one can buy a $10 ticket good for all three. Well worth it!

This was so cool! A lot of history and energy here. The docents were great- knew a lot of history and the house had some really interesting items. Learned a lot!

If you are a Civil War fan - then you should definitely stop here. Although it was only Stonewall's winter HQ - there are many of his personal items there to see. Right along a city street and parking is available. The guide that gave the tour was very informative and pleasant. I combined this house tour with tours of GW Headquarter's and Abram's Delight to get the discount.

We received our own personal tour from a very nice lady dressed in period costume. She obviously knows quite a bit about Jackson's time in Winchester and the home in which he resided. We were captivated by her narrative and enjoyed this tour very much, coming away having learned more about probably the best known and loved general of the Civil War. A must see when in Winchester!

In Winchester a must-see is Stonewall Jackson's HQ - well preserved home with period furniture and a room with Jackson artifacts

Stonewall Jackson's headquarters while he was in Winchester over the winter of 1861-1862 is a well maintained site and the tour was first class given by a thoroughly knowledgable guide who is completely devoted to her subject. Local history abounds here. Highly recommended.

This was a nice tour of interesting information the non-battle parts of the Civil War. The house is beautiful and our guide was a delight. Dressed in period costume, she shared the life of Jackson while he was not on the battlefield. There are lots of details and artifacts and she encouraged questions, comments and observations. The tour is not too long. It was nice to see how life was lived back then. You can purchase a single ticket or you can purchase a ticket that will allow you to see Jackson's headquarter's, George Washington's office and Abram's Delight. We enjoyed it!

You need to ring the doorbell to gain access, and what a surprise to have the door opened by a lady in period dress! Fantastic start to the tour; the house is beautifully laid out, and the information given is very informative. For those interested, the old quilt is made by a man, an Irish chain quilt that is so exquisitely stitched a machine could not have done it better!Highlight for me was holding the civil war rifle. Dang, it's heavy!
