My husband and I were on our anniversary trip and we wanted to go horseback riding.I had been only one time and wanted to try it again.Owners were very nice and made sure that we as the riders had the horse that they felt suited each rider.Plus they also made sure we were all wearing helmets and that we all understood the importance of listening to our guide.The guide was a young girl who knew exactly what to do and how to teach each one of us how important it was to know how to treat the horse in order to have the most enjoyable ride .I felt very safe knowing we were in good hands and trusted the horse that I was given to ride.My husband and I are definatly going again this year.If you want to have a great experience in riding I suggest you try this place outI am positive you will be as happy as we were.Donna

Me and my friend went ridding at Jordan hollow today and it was amazing!...sights where breath taking and staff is sooo incredibly nice!!!! Going back again very soon!!

My daughter (7 y/o) and I visited Jordan Hollow Stables for the first time today and our experience totally matched the positive reviews already posted. The directions posted on their website were easy to follow and we made it to their stable without incident. We were greeted as soon as we came in and given the chance to tour the barn. Staff approached to talk with us about the different breeds they have, etc, and that was very interesting. I know absolutely nothing about the care of horses, but I could tell by their appearance that staff is truly dedicated to taking care of them. The horses simply looked amazingly healthy! The guided ride was also fantastic and our guide was patient and attentive to our safety. We will definitely be back! The only thing that I would do differently is make sure that my camera is fully charged, so that I can take pictures of the beautiful horses and scenery :-) This is a place you must visit!!!

We took the two hour private walk trot ride. My wife and I ride regularly but our daughter had not been on a horse in twenty years and they were able to tailor our ride to all three of us. The horses are very well trained and gentle. The trots were in several short sections and were very safe with our daughter able to get a good basic introduction to this gait without feeling scared.The ride crosses farmland where you are looking into the mountains of Shenandoah National Park. It then crosses a road and winds through a wooded area (even saw some deer). Our guide was Amanda who kept a good conversation going throughout the entire ride. She even stopped mid way to check to be sure our daughter's cinch was still tight. At the end, Amanda stopped and took several photos of us with the mountains as a great backdrop.We would recommend this place if you are in this part of Virginia and remember to tip the guides because they do a great job.

2 moms and four kids under the age of 11- all first time riders! We had the greatest time today. Lisa and Amanda were fantastic guides. The horses are beautiful, clean, and obviously well-trained. This was a wonderful introduction to horseback riding for the kids (and the moms). We were actually trotting by the end of the ride. I cannot recommend Jordan Hollow Stables highly enough. This is a definite must repeat experience when we return.

We just recently took a private sunset ride with Lisa at Jordan Hollow Riding Stables. They are located in a beautiful scenic country setting. During the ride we enjoyed beautiful weather in the low 70′s which is so unseasonable for August. The views during the ride were amazing and Lisa and her guides are so knowledgeable. We give our riding experience a 5 star! Whether you are a beginning or experienced rider Jordan Hollow Stables has something for everyone. They go above and beyond to make sure that you have the best experience possible. They even offer rides up in the Shenandoah National Park. If you need to board your horse or horses they have Bar M Stables. With the beautiful weather and upcoming Fall Season I would highly recommend that you start setting up your advance reservations now. I wouldn’t want you to miss out on the opportunity to experience the beauty of the Shenandoah Valley on a horse.

Lisa Cubbage and Deb and Charlie Benning made our experience the best it could be! We took 8 scouts and 4 dads to the stables on a Friday in late July and found a well drained campsite with available water conveniently located with a great view of the mountains and the sky. Saturday the boys were treated to a busy day of hands-on learning, a trail ride with helpful and courteous guides and an engaging presentation on the 'classroom' section of the Horsemanship Merit Badge. That evening we watched everybody we met that day(including many of the horses we rode) in a great show exhibiting some fine discipline and horsemanship. After such a long day, Deb and Charlie came back to camp and worked individually with some of the boys to make sure every scout earned their badge. I have been in the hospitality industry for 20 years and I was impressed with the friendliness, care and old-fashioned neighborliness of everyone we met at the stable as well as the passion and commitment to caring for horses that I know was passed on to the scouts.I highly recommend the facility, the program and especially the people of Jordan Hollow Stables.

This was first time horseback riding enjoy the ride. Our guide Megan was wonderful. Our horses Anne and Leah were pleasant. Defiantly looking forward to coming back again.

We had a large group (13) with varying levels of horseback riding experience. Lisa (I believe she was the owner) was so helpful and concerned that we all had a great ride. She even met us during our trail ride and took pictures. She was also showed her care for all of the horses at the stable. Our experience at Jordan Hollow Stables MADE our vacation!! We will remember our ride for years to come.

Staff and volunteer guides are super friendly and the view is awesome! We had a party of 8 with different ages and experience levels, and the staff set us up just right. Not to be missed if you would like to ride, or already love to ride. An easy trip from Luray.

Me and husband took a walk/trot ride on a beautiful July day. The sights on the trails are breathtaking. The staff is friendly and comforting even if you are not sure what to do along the ride.

My husband, our 12 year old granddaughter, and I took the private guided two hour walk/trot ride at JHS during our vacation. The ride through the mountain was peaceful and beautiful. Our guide, Megan Hensley, was absolutely wonderful and very helpful. Lisa and her entire staff at JHS were great to us. We have been on several other rides in other states and they do not compare to the friendly atmosphere and the wonderful condition of the horses at JHS. You can tell that Lisa and the JHS staff take pride in what they do. We will be back again. Thank you Lisa and Megan for making our vacation a little brighter. All the best to you.

It was a beautiful trail ride with very nice horses! I feel you definitely get your monies worth! I would recommend this to others. Something fun and different to do!

What a wonderful experience! My wife and I scheduled the hour and a half ride and trot for a Sunday afternoon. We were greeted by exceptionally kind staff members and the owner, Lisa, who led us out to the lovely horses we’d be riding and gave a few helpful tips. The horses all appeared very healthy and very well taken care of. Our guide, Hannah, was a great young lady who was very knowledgeable. She turned our wonderful ride into a virtual riding lesson, giving us additional tips and explaining things to us. We’d been on a previous ride on the west coast along the beach, which was wonderful, but this was a bit more adventurous as we trotted through the woodlands. What a blast! We had such a great time and wished we’d have found this place earlier. We can’t recommend Jordan Hollow Stables enough. And don’t forget to bring a little extra cash to tip your guide. They’re hardworking people that really add to the experience. Thanks Lisa and Hannah for a memorable day!(And Hannah, the photos you took for us came out SPECTACULAR!)

We went on the 1.5 hr walk. I was glad for an easy ride, as I don't know about horses. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the horses and the area and answered all our questions. We thoroughly enjoyed it.
