leesburg animal park

We visited Leesburg Animal Park on Sunday night to check out the Christmas village. Wow! We had a great time! Our two year old daughter got pictures taken holding a baby bunny and goat, fed a llama, and loved the live nativity scene complete with a giant camel. The lights and bonfire were beatuful. To top it off, we warmed up at the indoor play area,which has slides and a bouncy house. we paid 15 bucks for our family (2 and under are free) -- it was great and I highliy reccomend it.

We go to Pumpkinville each year and often get annual memberships to the park. This park is very good for small children. Every October Pumpkinville is a great addition to the park, my older daughter loves it. They recently upgraded their building and can now stay open all year with indoor animal exhibits. We need a place to get close to animals, the national zoo is too far away.

We've been here a couple of times with my two year old and he loves it. In addition to the animals they have good playgrounds inside and out as well as a fun activities room. However, the price of admission is ridiculous and were it not for this we would be there every second weekend.Around Halloween they have Pumpkinville, which has different slides, moon bounces and other fun activities.

While I thought the price of admission was a bit steep ($14.95 per adult), it was fun to get up close to the animals. I spent another $10.00 on animal food ($5.00 per cup). There was a long hayride that was not crowded, allowing everyone to spread out and enjoy the ride. They also had lots of amusements for little children. At the end, we collected our free small pumpkin. I am sure this is great for little kids.

So this is definitely a family / small child oriented place but if you "love animals" as much as I do, you'd also love it. Sure it's awkward to be one of the only folks here without children in tow but when's the last time you get to pet a giant tortoise or feed alpacas out of your hand? I wish there was a little more variety of animals to pet but this was a fun experience nevertheless. The animals look well cared for and enrichment isn't Smithsonian level but was adequate- in fact, from the looks of these animals were a little more active than the typical zoo animals (maybe it's because we're all feeding them!) Facilities are relatively clean and not as "barnyard" smelling as you'd expect it to be. They have a lot of employees assisting which is a good sign. Well worth the $14.95 admission! And to make it clear that childless 20something year olds are not the target demographic, they had a live musician strumming the ABC song and make Dora the explorer references while I try my best to look confident and mature about feeding sheep. PS: beware of the horse- s/he's very cute but very aggressive about food. S/he chases away other animals in the pen and nips at their butt if you try to feed them instead and will knock into you with his/her head to get you to cough up more food.

The weather was perfect for a day of fun amongst the animals and all the fun for kids. There was several slides, face painting, music, and the best apple juice I have tasted in my life. Our little granddaughter loved the slides and pony ride. The Llama's were very friendly. We didn't get a chance to go on the hayride but they and had a pretty big group riding around on that. We were all impressed by all the things there was to do!

We took our daughter, son-in-law and their 15-month old to the Animal Park a few weeks ago when visiting the area for a wedding. Our grandson was a bit young to enjoy the place, but I think it would be great for older kids. It was an incredibly hot and humid day when we went, and there was very little shade to get out of the sun so we didn't stay very long.We went on a Thursday and thought there'd be a snack bar for lunch, but that is only available on the weekends. They do have various snacks and drinks available in the park store. There's also an indoor play area for the kids.

This animal park really is sweet. It was, however, on the young side for my eight-year old son. I think a better time would have been had about three years ago. This animal park is on the small side and I did find the entrance fee a bit high, $28.00+, with a bag of food, for the two of us. The animals did appear to be well cared for and we both liked seeing that. Feeding the animals was fun and the fish down at the pond was an enjoyable site. We were in and out of the park in an hour though. I did notice the smaller children were having a great time! I wish I had discovered this place years ago. Bring your lunch and drinks and enjoy the great outdoors!

While small, it provides enough opportunities for the little ones to experience farm animals. We love the camel and pony rides. If you come in the fall, you'll enjoy Pumpkinville as well!

We came here with our five grandchildren and our two daughters. I had been here before, about a year ago, and I think the new indoor visitor center is wonderful; it really adds a lot more value to the price of admission. The children, ranging in age from 20 months to nine years, had so much fun feeding the animals and playing on all the marvelous wooden playsets and the moon bounce. We enjoyed the short wagon ride while the little boys admired all the tractors!Unlike some animal parks, this one is tidy and clean, and the animals appear healthy and well-cared for. There is a nice covered patio where you can have a snack, with an outdoor handwashing station beside it, as well as very clean indoor bathrooms. We adults were tired after spending almost three hours walking around outside, but the kids were filled with energy again when they climbed into the huge indoor playgym. It was hard to make them leave, but we bribed them out with promises of a fast food lunch.We highly recommend this attraction for a family day out!

Brought my 6 yr old, spent around 4 hours at the park. $14.95 gets the kids a VIP pass with pony ride and food for the animals.. its not the largest place but had plenty to see and do. We enjoyed our time there.. Would say if you have smaller children and are in the area, definitely consider this park.

This is a nice place to go see a few animals up close and interact with friendly farm animals. They don't have exotic animals or big, impressive exhibits, but my 7/8 year old daughter enjoyed spending a couple of hours here. You can buy a good sized cup of food for a few dollars, and have fun feeding the sheep, goats and cattle by hand. The hayride, which is included, takes you down to see the zebras. The new welcome center is fantastic; huge improvement over the old facilities. I hope to see them grow.

The animals are welled cared for, lots for the kids to do, we brought a picnic lunch and made a day of it. Wiped the kids out, not only with fun but with learning. They had a blast on the pony rides..

I came here with my grandson and it had changed a lot since our last visit. The new indoor area really has five areas. The central area is where you enter, pay, and run the gauntlet of souvenir toys. To your right, you'll see an activity area for crafts and another room for parties. Left of the central area you'll find a large indoor play area that is twice the size of what you'll find at a Chick-fil-A or McDonald's. My grandson really liked the small trampoline area. The last area is more of a classroom display area. There are some animals that are housed just off this area. You'll also find that you can purchase drinks and ice cream in here, but that's it for food. Outdoors you'll find more animals on your left, including a petting zoo. The bird area was locked, but you could see peacocks within. Further down you'll find the duck pond as well as another pond area and an area to gather for the wagon rides. In addition, there is a large wooden ship and bounce area good for large groups of kids. There were picnic tables galore along the shady area as you exit the building. In reality, I thought that the Animal Park's new design was more conducive to large groups of kids. It'd be a good place for a birthday party because there was something for everyone. It's also a decent place to go on a rainy day because of the new indoor areas. There was a school camp visiting on the day that we were there. The thing I liked the least about this place was the wagon ride. It was in a very confined area and was very short. There wasn't a lot of variety to the animals. They had several zebras, a few odd bovines, llamas, donkeys, and a camel that they didn't even stop to mention. I'm sure I'll be back, but it will be the play areas rather than the animals that will have me return.

Brought my grand daughter back after a year. What an improvement. The shack that served as the ticket office has been replaced by a nice air conditioned "visitor center". VIP ticket is best for the kids, food for the animals and a pony ride. The wagon ride is included with admission. Definitely best for younger kids, under 10.The new indoor play and craft areas were a nice break on a hot day.Great
