"The Kiln" reopened this year after an almost 2 year hiatus. We are delighted this awesome venue is back with us.

Well, a little more rustic than the title implies. But it's a beautiful spot under the trees to hear great music and see great shows. The Bowl (the stage that is open) has a good deal of wooden seating, and plenty of places to pitch your own lawn chair/blanket. (Bug spray recommended.) Food and drinks (including beer and wine) are available for purchase on site (outside food and drinks are not allowed) for a fairly reasonable price. Porta-potties are available, and parking is free and a very short walk to the stages. Dress code runs the gamut from extremely casual (shorts and T-shirts) to sundresses and occasional shirt/tie. The Quarry (the other stage) is currently closed as the new owners continue to raise the money to renovate it. Ticket prices are also very reasonable - paid $20 to hear the Seldom Scene, a bluegrass music institution, there last night to a sold-out crowd. Good audience, very few mosquitoes, and perfect weather. (My only complaint was too much mayonnaise in the chicken salad sold in the concessions stand - such a hardship! :) ) I highly recommend it and am looking forward to more summers there.

After a struggle to stay alive, the Theater at Lime Kiln has closed its doors. We share our sadness with many others who hoped the theater would survive, however. and unfortunately, the announcement was recently made that it will no longer be in business.

Hard to beat the kiln for atmosphere. Make it a starry night and a good performance, and everyone will return home content. Worth the drive.

An outdoor amphitheater in the woods. The show takes place with a background of boulders. It is so awesome. The talent they bring in is excellent. Take mosquito spray and a blanket or stadium seats. We are going back for a Labor Day show.

The title says it all - a wonderful and very special performance space. Saw a bluegrass band performing, The Seldom Scene. Good sound, good sightlines. The Theatre is in financial difficulty and in danger of closing. One hopes that residents of the area and regular patrons do not let this happen.

beautiful historic setting, too. Outdoors makes it an enjoyable visit in good weather

Everything I've seen there has been wonderful. Especially love Stonewall Country. Great setting. Take a picnic.

World class blue grass but under the tent for threat of rain. Great venue all around for festivals, music, and theater.

Was there to see production of Dracula this October. Very funny, great performances and just a remarkable venue to see outdoor theater. Wish the weather had been better, but you can't control that. Lexington should be proud--this is a performance space like no other.
