This is a free, self-guided tour where you can see old jets, missiles, rockets, etc. We thoroughly enjoyed seeing the vintage aircraft. It's open year round seven days a week.

They have everything from model tanks to model space vehicles. Kids loved it, but I wish they could still climb onto and into the airplanes like I was able to do as a kid.

Although located in an out of the way swampy little park, this display of aerospace ingenuity is truly amazing. In today's dollars there is possibly billions of dollars of hardware sitting here with some of it sadly neglected by evidence of the corroded mounting pedestals and missing signage.Don't let this deter you however, this is still something for all persons interested in technology and military kit, to visit.

I was in the area for a baseball camp for my son - but I ventured out while the was working out. I glad I did! I came across the Air Park/Museum by accident. I'm a huge avaition museum fan so this was a perfect find. After talking with the only employee on site for almost an hour I got a lot of the back story of this place. There are two parts to this facility -the outside exhibits approximately 15 aircraft or missles that are the real and full size and the inside that has 8 to 10 rooms that contain hundreds of models planes of all types, countries and spanning all decades of flight. While the employee readily admitted the place is a bit worn with some signs missing, some aircraft need maintaince and not much funding available the air park does offer some great aircraft. One of their aircraft is one of only two in existance in the world! He also told me of a couple ideas he trying launch such as a room devoted to women of avaition and that hehas been promised a flight suit of a women space shuttle astronaut. So don't dismiss this place it has more to offer than first appearences!! Note this is a free exhibit but if you can please be generous and leave a donation in the box

It looks small from the road but this free museum contains hundreds of model air planes, helicopters, and rockets. There are about 20 rockets and a half dozen airplanes outside. My two year old nephew loved it. My teenage nephews liked it too. There is a slide, swings, and a picnic table in a shaded spot. Plan on spending about two hours.

First of all, the woman at the front desk was on the phone during our entire visit. Two of us tried to get information from her at two different times; she appeared to be annoyed that we interrupted her phone conversation. That doesn't set a good tone for the visit. The small models inside the "museum" could be interesting, but they aren't put into any kind of context other than separating the military branches by rooms. These models have no information other than the labels that are on each plane. The aircraft outdoors appears to be falling into disrepair. Again, it could be a wonderfully informative visit; however, some signs were missing. It almost seems as if this place has been forgotten. If you have an interest in aviation or the space program, visit the Virginia Air and Space Museum instead.

I have passed this attraction everyday for the 10 years that I have lived in Hampton. I finally stopped one day and was pleasantly surprised. Seeing the planes and other aircrafts up close was impressive. It gives the locals a lot of pride knowing how big a part Hampton played in the air throughout the years. What I didn't realize was that the small building in the middle of all the aircrafts was actually a small museum. It is jammed packed with memorabilia and models. The history is great and the gentleman sitting at the front desk definitely loves his job. He told us some great stories. Any child will love this attraction and standing next to history is always a benefit for history buffs. If you have an afternoon off, check it out. You won't be disappointed.I am an aspiring travel writer looking for the next great adventure and local treasure. Several vintage aircraft and experimental space launch vehicles from the 1950s and 1960s are displayed out of doors. The park includes a children's playground.

The staff was intelligent, informative, and interactive. I couldn't tell who enjoyed this more my son or husband. There are old planes and items to explore and take advantage of the people who work there. It's also a living museum told by people who have been there.

I do love aeroplanes, so I am biased. However, despite the exhibits being outside mostly and some looking quite tired, the enthusiasm and friendly service of Dave the Docent made the visit special. The City had allowed the attraction to become abandoned a few years earlier; however, an ongoing restoration is in progress and the exhibits, some of which are extremely rare, are being tended to again and righly so. Given the aviation heritage of this part of the area, it is imperative that this important segment of the picture is supported wholeheartedly. Go there and take your camera!

Stopped when passing by. Stayed about 30 min. Kids left with free themed coloring pages. Staff was friendly. Inside was sparse, but well kept. Exhibits outside were plain but enjoyable. Nice playground.

Cute park for kids and for those interested in air and space. We have been here a few times for a semi quiet weekend at the park with the little ones. Highway, Mercury Blvd is right there so you have to keep a close eye on kids and there is that noise too.

after visiting the air and space center this was a bit of a let down. however keeping in mind that this place is much older then the center helped the kids to understand the reasoning behind the park.

This facility on mercury blvd is a display of aicraft ,missles, and lauch vehicles. The area floods frequently and the indoor historical exhibit has been transferred to the air and space center. Unless you want to look, take pictures of older flight vehicles it's a waste of time.
