Have been visiting this place for a few years now. Enjoy the wines there and bring our own food - which is a great plus. The atmosphere there is so relaxing and all our friends have always enjoyed this place.

Gouveia's Vineyard is located on a hillside overlooking acres of vineyards and lots of seating both inside or outside on the patios. A great place for a couple or for a small get-together. Beautiful in both winter or summer, with lovely sunsets.

Great place to meet friends and drink some wine! Can be a little crowded on the weekend but on a nice day there's plenty of room inside and out.

I went for a weekend in Ct with friends and we were looking for attractions in the area. Part of the Connecticut Wine Trail, the Vineyard offers a tour which in the cold is really just a walk to the basement to look at the barrels and here the very charming owner discuss how he got into making wine and what he makes there and how he makes it. The wine itself was surprising good. The tastings run you $10 and include 5 wines (1 is your choice) and a complimentary wine glass. They have two large rooms where you can bring your own food and sit at tables and orders wine by the bottle or glass. Some groups had been there all afternoon and into the early evening. If you are in the area for a wedding or just passing through, it's worth a stop.

Perfect place for enjoying late Spring to early Fall enjoying the scenery while sitting outside. During colder weather sit inside the vineyard lodge. No food served by vineyard by local ordinance, but bring your own and enjoy the atmosphere with friends. Outside is very serene. Inside is noisy because of the hard surfaces (hardwood floors, ceilings and lots of glass), but generally very upbeat. Very few other vineyards offer the atmosphere, scenery and collection of local grapes for the price of a bottle of wine. Inexpensive wine tasting and if you get a chance, ask for a tour by the owner, who is very friendly.

We came to Gouveia's for a wine tasting and a tour. Because of the weather the tour took place in the basement of the winery. The owner gave the 'tour' and gave lots of information on each of his wines and grapes, etc. Very interesting. The downside to this experience was the location of the wine tasting. The wine itself was very good, but it was located at the main bar in a very crowded lodge. The noise level was very unpleasant and we had a hard time understanding what was being said because there were so many screaming people all over. The location is beautiful, the building is gorgeous as well but it is not a relaxing environment.

I was lucky to be here at the end of fall beginning of winter, what a sunset.sat next to the outside fire and drank a red.The wines were just ok,were not $24 -28 bottles, but you did what you do on a nice day.Staff were friendly,a place if you love wine tasting scenery and a quiet place for an afternoon,or a place for a group to just enjoy each others company

Gouveia has a nice selection of wine. The wine tastings are fun and each time you go there may be different wines to taste. It is fun to bring food and sit with a glass of wine. Beautiful scenery too!

Pretty decent local wine...especially the whites...plenty of seating room inside and outside...need to arrive early on the weekends to claim tables...they fill up quick

That's a terrific combination! Just get here by noon to get a good seat! It's very popular and with good reason. Bring your snacks, or a whole meal (a party of about 50 set up a buffet line!) and enjoy the views and the very refined wines (mostly $20-24/bottle). Six of us finished off five bottles and a couple odd glasses ($7). They also offer a tasting of five wines for $10. Some compare it to being in Tuscany (wish I knew how accurate that is). Hope it's a warm, sunny day and you can snag a picnic table on the hillside.

Gouveia's wines are great in any season, but this winery really shines when it's warm enough to site outside and enjoy the beautiful view that surrounds the winery. It is great to be able to bring your own food and have a lovely picnic outside. In the wintertime you can do the same inside, but the tasting room can get crowded.

This winery is a little gem tucked away in the hills of a small, New England town. The views are expansive and you feel as though you're away from everything. We like to come here to buy a bottle of wine and sit outside. Although the last time we went it was quite crowded, there was still enough places to sit. The staff is friendly and helpful with their wine recommendations. It is a nice way to spend an afternoon.

I got a $50 gift certificate from my engagement party for this winery. My first time there was a year ago and I'm still eating away at the gift certificate:). The wine, the employees, and the view of the vineyard is beautiful. They are very laid back, this time I walked with a girlfriend and five people were bringing in their own pizza to eat with their wine. Very relaxed atmosphere and they are one of the very few wineries that are not only open on the weekends.
