My wife really enjoyed the store selections that were located on the avenue and persisted to shop the entire day.

I love Connecticut, and Greenwich is just amazing. Walking Greenwich Ave is just an experience itself. Charming and modern. Purchasing fashion is a great experience since it carries most of what the New York upscale stores offer, without the rush and and the crowd. If planning to buy and since you have the money to spend, demand good service; If you are are you are a window shopper, enjoy the quiet atmosphere.

Greenwich Avenue is a wonderful, busy long street, several blocks long. The traffic is only one way (towards the train station) so it is easier to cross and cover both sides of the road. It is filled with restaurants ranging from Subway and Chipotle to very upscale restaurants, and restaurants in between. There are chain stores, e.g. J Crew, Gap, Claires, upscale department stores (Saks and Richards), discount clothing stores like Zara's, shoe stores, technology stores, and many other kinds It is especially fun on their annual Sidewalk Sale in the summer, when you can find some great discounts. During the warm months, it is a great place to stroll and you can find many people doing this with their dogs. In fact, several places set out bowls of treats for dogs.

Came to Greenwich Ave on a Sunday morning in the winter. Many of the stores were closed, and many opened at 12:00. But we had a nice time walking the street and visiting the stores that were open. Many upscale stores - Saks (no men's stuff here - only women's), Ralph Lauren (boy, what a magnificent store!). Coming her you get to see what the wealthy class shops. (The upper and lower end of the avenue are for more commoner stores (J. Crew), the middle is for the upper class.) The town Commons is on this avenue, and it makes you really feel like you're in New England. My only complaint was that the place felt very WASPy to me. (If you google about Greenwich opening up it's beaches to non-residents, you'll see what I mean.) But all-in-all, it is a very pleasant afternoon stroll. Worth a visit.

Visited here while on business in Stamford. Heard it was a quaint and lovely place. Lovely walk on the Avenue lined with many high end shops. Great window shopping but don't venture in! I received no welcome or offers of help in the stores I entered. At Vineyard and Vines I even stood at the counter to inquire about a tie pattern and no one even acknowledged me! Needless to say I didn't enter any more shops but continues to Le Pain Quotidien for a lovely lunch. Downtown Merchants: get your act together. Visitors dollars spend quite well!

The restaurants are excellent and reasonable. The stores are all high end and part of a chain. There are very few left, if any, that cater to mid-priced shopping. So miss the toy store that would wrap a birthday gift minutes before the party started. I guess this is progress.

Greenwich Avenue is wonderful for a day of shopping, strolling and lunch or dinner! Bring quarters if you drive and need to park on the Avenue!

I was in town for work, I decided to get some air. A nice walk filled with a mix of local and well known shops, great eateries and people watching. Strap on your fitness band and go for a stroll. Don't forget your credit card!

Great people watching, stores,Beautiful art, restaurants that are reasonable and check out the harbor at the bottom of the avenue. Beautiful

The Greenwich Ave is for the rich and not for anyone else when it comes to shopping. There are reasonable priced places to eat for every budget and you can take a stroll or take your kids to the Greenwich Commons, which is a beautiful park. This is good to know if you are not rich. I personally go to Stamford for the night life and for things to do, especially if you are in your thirties to your sixties. This place is a nice place to walk, if you are really into fashion during the day. If you are rich you will love the bar scene here.

I have lived in Greenwich for 45 years and tried many different spas. usually they are located on the second floor, a steep, vertical climb in the old buildings on Greenwich Ave.. Dream spa has an elevator and you enter a spa that is pristine and inviting. I had a relaxing, soothing facial from Dalia, an esthetician and massage therapist. her hands are magic and I recommend using her for one of their many treatments. this is a treat that I will continue in the New Year.

Lived in Greenwich over 40 years. In the winter drive up North Street to see the mansions. Go to Todd's Point in the winter (only residents in summer) also known as Greenwich Point and walk along the beach or go to the back of the park where there is a nice path overlooking Long Island Sound. The Bruce Museum usually has some interesting exhibits. The Audubon can be interesting as well as The Greenwich Education Center in Cos Cob (part of Greenwich). For children the Bruce Park Playground is fun, but not much else for them to do in town.

I live here & it is always interesting & fun to go to town. Great shopping & restaurants! Myy favorites are Terra & Meditterraneo for lunch & Douro for dinner. There is also a movie theater so you could stay all day!

We walk it at least once per month. Plenty of parking. Friendly shopkeepers. Good foodie places. Good exercise.

Be prepared for only a moderately picturesque downtown, expensive stores, New York styles and skinny blonde women in workout clothes. As you can tell, this is not my favorite destination, with a few exceptions. The clothing stores do not carry above a size 12 and the prices are outrageous. If you are looking for a really cute downtown with unique stores, go to New Canaan, CT. However, it is worth your wile to go to Diane's Bookstore and to the Organic Planet Restaurant. The traffic is terrible and the parking a nightmare.
