JSU is in the top 10 schools for aids in the U.S. I would never attend this school !!!! I live close to this school and they party all the time and smoke marijuana out side of the school

But I liked was the graduation ceremony my daughter graduated dislikes have to wait a while before I get back to Jackson Mississippi because my daughter's not there anymore. This is a great city people are friendly and the weather was very pleasant

Nothing really fancy but lots if student support and loud JSU fans. I went to four games and met some real characters. Just down the street on Walter Payton drive.$5 entry and good hospitality.

I visited the campus of Jackson State University during their homecoming weekend of 10/18/13. It was quite ironic that the game never came about as their opponent, Grambling State University, boycotted the game due to grievances with their administration. Jackson State decided to move forward by having the team scrimmage the first half of the game. Their band played during halftime and they had a mini concert featuring Life Jennings. The cancellation of the game had little effect on the lively spirit exhibited by the attendees of the homecoming festivities. It was packed in the lot with tailgaters galore. Music and the smell of food permeated the air and a great time was had by all. I really enjoyed the spirit and dedication to the university that was displayed on my visit. Well done Jackson State Tigers!

This place is a joke. Anyone can attend, I mean anyone. Campus security can't keep up with all of the crime here. A teacher was robbed and shot in the face after her biology lab a few semesters ago. Why waste your time or pay for an essentially WORTHLESS education? Sports have been suspended for various reasons. Plain unbelievable.

I happened to be in the neighborhood after touring their small fire museum which was fun. The school itself is nice. It definitely looks and feels like it is Jackson's University. I didn't take any official tours. Just strolled campus as it was holiday break, not in full swing. I probably would have enjoyed a tour if I could learn more about their history/alums, etc. I'm not so sure a school would be a recommended tourist attraction though, maybe if you have some extra time in town.

My youngest daughter graduated Saturday morning. I liked that the event took place, but I did not like how early in the morning it was (8 am). It was foggy out, but JSU directed the traffic well.

Jackson State University is a jewel in the middle of the state capital of Mississippi.

This campus is very nice! There was a children's camp going on when I took my daughters to see their dad's alma mater. Very peaceful...

I brought my son to school where his father and I graduated 22 years earlier. It was surreal having the opportunity to bring him "home" and have some of the same educators and administrators welcome him, just as they had done for me years ago. The campus is remarkable! It's every bit as nice as any other State school. But I have no doubt that he will be welcomed and nurtured here like "family" and when he graduates he will be well prepared for life. I couldn't feel more blessed to give my son this first class education.
