I like the Jackson Zoo I think they have been making major improvements and I agree even though its near an ugly part of town , I feel totally safe going with my kids . I've been going here since I was a young child ..

Sorry to hear that you had an unpleasant experience with us. Our zoo is almost 100 years old, but we are constantly striving to "zoo it better" with the resources that we have available. The animals are very well taken care of and we are AZA accredited, which means the habitats are in code with other AZA zoos across the country. Thanks so much for your feedback! Glad to hear that you enjoy your zoo visits, and our collection of SSP animals. It's great to be able to visit the zoo multiple times a year, because you get to see the interaction of animals in different seasons, moods, etc. Hopefully we will see you again soon! And of course we are excited for our 2015 Zoo Brew, which is set for April 3 this year!

Thanks for your feedback! The Fall is a great time to visit, because of the cooler temperatures and the animals seem to be more active during this time. Sorry to hear about your experience at the petting zoo, we will take your feedback into consideration as we are working to improve overall satisfaction of the zoo, as well as the Discovery Zoo. We are so sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your experience with us. Over our almost 100 year history, we have had a lot of ups and downs. At this time we are in the process of improving our zoo for an overall satisfactory experience. With our size and budget this can be a challenging feat at times, but we are working with the city on improving infrastructure and appearance of city streets and sidewalks. The overgrowth that you mention is much loved by our animals, we try to make their environment as close to a natural habitat as we possibly can (our baby tiger cub Eko loves hiding in the weeds and pouncing out on mom when she walks by). Our general admission is $9.25 for adults and $6.75 for kids, and during our fall/winter months we have a special rate of $7.00/$4.50. Thanks for your feedback! We will continue to zoo it better! Hope that you are willing to give us another chance some day.

Thanks for your feedback! Glad the kids enjoyed it. We have great kids events that take place year-round, such as Boo at the Zoo and Ice Cream Safari. We hope that you can not only visit the zoo again, but maybe make it to one of these fun events. If you still have your carousel tokens, bring them to your next visit and you can redeem them. :)
