Great Mississippi themed gifts and souvenirs. Also, very clean restroom. Great stopping point to avoid stopping anywhere in Memphis.

Anyone stepping out on a journey to discover, learn, celebrate the music that transformed popular music worldwide must start here. The Mississippi Delta region IS the birth place and nersery of the Bluse. This visitors center will set you up with self tour guides and all things 'deta'. Also great free concerts by authentic delta blues artists. You will not be disappointed!

I expected much more for the Gateway to the blues visitor Museum. In fact I must have completely overlooked the museum portion for I saw nothing but cheap tourist trinkets normally available in every store on Beale Street. I expected to have at the very least someone who would talk about the vast history of this building or give information about the Blues trail markers that started at their front door.What I found was 2 women who only wanted to take your cash for the merchandise that they peddled. This is NOT a good look for the Gateway to the Blues.

This former train depot is truly a very unique visitor center that introduce the richness of the blues in the Mississippi delta.Since I often travel this direction, just admired the center,but never stop. However on route to tour with relatives, made the stop.I consider this more a visitor center. There are a few items on display,but not a true museum (which is in the works). Information on all areas of Mississippi, not just the Blues trail is available. The staff is welcoming and helpful.The bathroom is very clean.Also it's a great photo op for any visitor.

My mon and I have driven past this place several times, but were never able to stop, so my boyfriend and I went to Tunica, I had to go! It is mostly a visitor center, but had few blues music related items on display. We were able to get some information for our visit.

This center was near our hotel, The Veranda at Harrah's. It is a very cool building and has some famous music artist's instruments displayed. There was a good variety of tourist information brochures and nice souveniors. The staff was fine but not overly friendly.

Hopefully they can build the museum they have been planning for several years but until then, the relocated train depot is quaint and interesting - just not enough info - eaves you wanting for more!

The museum/visitor center is nice but did not contain as much as I expected. I thought they should have had more souvenirs as well as more displays.The employees were very friendly and helpful.

Have now been to a few Visitors Centres during this trip and found them all very helpful to someone unfamiliar to the area. Although I had been to the south before these centres have helped so much with more of the detail. Apart from the normal brochures and information, this one has a specific interest with its train station and guitars on display.

By all means make this your first stop in Tunica. There is alot of information pamphlets on the area and their displays of old instruments are interesting. Look up the walls to see the beautiflu guitars on display. The people working there are friendly and very knowledgeable. The train station building is really great.

We stopped to look at the train station which caught our attention from the road. They had interesting things in there to look at and the gift shop was small but nice and affordable. The 2 ladies working in there could not have been nicer and seemed interested in where we were from and why were visiting the area. There was a lot of information concerning the area in there also.

We had stopped at the visitor center in the past but not since they moved the old train station from Dundee to this site and made it into the new visitor center. They have some interesting stuff on exhibit relating to the blues but when they finish the planned museum (will be entered through the visitor center) it should be fantastic. They apparently have the contents of the blues museum that at one time was on the premises at Horseshoe and will be displaying those items. A nice stop to pick up brochures and info and something to defintely look forward to.

We stopped to pick up brochures for our travels. Walking up to the building is so neat, it has been restored and beautiful! There are cool things to buy, from t shirts to cotton. Check out the guitars in there!
