Traveling north from New Orleans, consulted TravelAdvisor for lunch. Stopped here after good reviews for Crescent City Grille, which has same owner in same building. Great decision - bartender Tina welcoming, makes a wonderful Bloody Mary. Delicious Corn crab bisque and fried green tomato crabmeat BLT. Attractive surroundings, friendly patrons. A definite good choice for great food, huge beer and liquor offering.

We travel through Hattiesburg several times a year and always plan a stop at Mahogany Bar. The Oyster BLT Sandwich has always been my favorite Menu item, but this time I noticed a variation on the Oyster October Menu titled The Ultimate Oyster Poboy (Fried Oysters, Bacon, Sharp Cheddar, Lettuce,Tomato, Pickles and Remoulade on Poboy Bread). This sandwich is definitely in a class all it's own and will be a serious consideration, especially when I'm really hungry. Pair this with Fries and one of the Huge selection of Craft Beers and you will be set for a pretty good while. I can hardly wait for the return trip on the way home next week!

Can't go to Hattiesburg without stopping in at the Mahogany Bar. No matter what day of the week or what time the food, drinks and service is always outstanding. If you are there on a Sunday, they have a Bloody Mary Bar with all your favorite fixings included with your meal. The chargrillied oysters will and ambiance of the pub will make you think you are in New Orleans.

I had a meal in the Crescent City grill which I have previously reviewed. I then went into the Mahogany Bar that is obviously part of the same complex. Being from outside the United States, I was aware that in a restaurant you would normally tip the waiter/waitress. I wasn't aware that this also applied to bar staff. Anyway, I bought a pint in the Mahogany Bar and counted out some loose change to pay. Nothing was said, until I returned the following night. I noted the same barman nodding at me to his fellow barman, and maybe they thought I didn't speak English, started to give off about me counting out my money the previous night.. And really belittled me in front of his fellow barmen. Needless to say, I drank up and left. So anyone deciding to drink here, ensure you tip the barman otherwise he'll never forgive you!

I needed to meet a couple of co-workers for dinner, so we decided here. Free wifi helps. The chargrilled oysters and nachos were good. Service was outstanding. For dinner I had the grilled chicken with three different veggies. Great selection to watch the calories.
