I went to Alley Spring with a coworker on one of our days off. We were on a temp job in a small town about 30 min. away. Alley Spring is very pretty and we were there on a nice day. We enjoyed hiking on the trails and were able to get some amazing pictures.

awesome spot to go and take picture of/with your special someone's. The grounds are very well kept. The mill looks great, the spring is fantastic and the trails and lookouts are well-placed. If there is a down side, the signage is lacking. If coming from the east on 106, cross Jack's Fork and enter at the Alley Springs Picnic Area parking. It is also the parking for everything else. If coming from the west - good luck. Just watch on the left after coming down the big hill upon entering the Ozark National Scenic Riverways. The parking lot at the Ranger Station is most for handicap parking. Otherwise wait and turn left into the picnic area just before the bridge.

Very nicely kept historic mill and school surrounded by a natural spring and beautiful grounds. The spring is in the top 10 largest Ozark area springs.

The spring is one of the largest producing over 8,000,000 gallons of water during peak seasons. There is a well marked (timbered, shaded) hiking trail that surrounds the park, encompassing the grist mill and spring. It includes some interesting rock formations and picture opps. They are just about complete with the mill's restoration project. Well worth the 6 mile drive to see!

The water is absolutely beautiful, feel how cold it is. Watch the air bubbles in the pond. Take the walk around back, then follow the spring run to the Jack's Fork River. The museum has local history.

This is such a gem. Beautiful and interesting. We took our 6 year old and she just loved it. The old school house may have put things in perspective :)

I have been visiting Ally Springs Grist Mill at least once every year or 2 for my entire life. It is gorgeous. Adults and children alike love it. If you are a photographer...novice or professional...it is inspirational.

We made a trip to the Mill and General store as part of our Jr Ranger program. We walked the grounds and the one room school house. We had a spectacular park ranger show us some bats that were hiding out just above the door to the Mill. They have been working on the mill but we were able to see everything during our visit. We also saw a little blue tail skink running around the steps where we were setting. Get your kids involved In the junior ranger program and they can learn so much about history and how to keep our parks great for generations to come. The blue hole here is so amazing it looks fake in every photo I have, which was crazy amazing. Truly a magical spring.

Alley Spring is worth the short trip from Eminence to see it. It has a beautiful blue color and there's a trail you can walk all the way around. It's impressive to see the amount of water it generates! The grist mill was closed for renovation the day we were there.

I can't begin to tell how beautiful this area is. We went in the early morning and the fog was just starting to lift off the spring. The sun was shining through the mist and my daughter said, "Mom, this must be where the fairies live.... it is so magical". It was magical... beautiful!

I've visited the mill several times over my life. My family has always gone to river nearby and we always make a stop at the mill. Most recently, my boyfriend and I visited the mill while camping. They are doing some renovation at the mill, but it is still worth the trip! There are trails you can walk around the spring. The spring is beautiful and is definitely one of my favorite places!

a short walk around the spring, up to the general store and just play around .the miss was under renovation, but the placards told the story.

Stop in and talk to the park ranger before you head over to the mill for a look around. Don't miss the school house, either. Kids can do the junior ranger program for Ozark NSR and earn a badge (free)! Great park and a gem.
