With a new interest in star astronomy, I was delighted to discover this park located in St Charles county. It is situated in a location designed to deliver dark sky and is a very well planned and executed park for rank amateurs like myself as well as well-equipped, well informed astronomers. The park has multiple stations – pads – for telescope set-up, each with electrical outlets so that you can plug in your computer, tracking gear, etc. for a great experience. On Friday nights, weather permitting, the park usually has volunteers from astronomy clubs who provide useful information and guidance. Please Google the park name for full information regarding use of the park. If you have even a slight interest in star gazing I highly recommend this as a very fulfilling experience. The park is open every night - take a red-light emitting flash light to preserve night vision of the other observers. The sky is amazing from here!
