Its a divine place in a peaceful serene location in middle of Troy. One of the greatest Hindu temples in SE Michigan.

I liked this temple when driving along Adams Road in the night - it was illuminated and looked very gorgeous in the almost full dark.

We have been in the states for the past 6 weeks, and have visited quite a few temples, and seen devotees performing various pooja's and rites. We were overwhelmed to learn that our people far away from our land continue to practise the religion they follow with utmost sincerity and belief. In the parts we have travelled, the abode of God was housed in what seemed to be large tenaments, and we felt them more to be pooja ghar or devasthan. The Bhartiya temple in Troy,Detroit,MI, was the one which gave us a feeling of visiting a temple. Built in the early eighties, the Temple has grown significantly in terms of its activities, building expansion as well as in the size of the congregation. There is a large main POOJA hall with overa dozen Gods and deities divining the charged atmosphere where calm prevails your mind and body. You just seem to be lost. There are various activities going on,like regular prayers, bhajans, religious discourses etc.Facilites for yagnas and festival gatherings with kitchen services are also available. Notable is the Gurukul Montessari academy, where from early childhood the values of our community and the joys of learning is imparted,to imbibe the cultural and spiritual awareness. Recently, the Stupa's of the temple were installed with 'Kalash" to signify the arrival of a temple.TRULY IMPRESSED.
