I grew up in Petoskey and spent most of my summer at this park beaching, exploring and camping. I came back for a visit over the summer and my kids their friends had a fantastic time at the park. I was so happy to see it was as beautiful as I remember.

The state park has a wonderful beach. It is very scenic and peaceful/ Seeing the sailboats out in the bay was very pleasing to the mind and soul. The beach was very clean. Would recommend it to everyone.

We've camped here three times in a year and a half since buying our popup. The park is perfectly nestled on little traverse bay, and because of that has wonderful scenery with awesome sunsets! The park is clean and well kept up! It's also very close to Bay Harbor, downtown Petoskey, and even Mackinac for a day trip! For campers, it should be on your list to visit!

This park is nicely located on little traverse bay and has much to offer - sand dunes, swimming, camping, interesting hiking trails that provide opportunities to see the view of the bay.

PSP is located at the back of the beautiful Little Traverse Bay, where white sand beaches, sand dunes, and birch and cedar trees are plentiful. Many great trails including a not too challenging trail up ol' Baldy. Park staff are helpful and friendly. The beach on lake Michigan is one of the nicest public outdoor attractions in the area.

This is one of the nicest state parks in Michigan! Dennis, the manager is super helpful and the beach is large and clean. A no miss park if you are in northern Michigan.. July is the best month

One of the nicest State Parks around. The bonus is its location, not too far from the center of town and the entrance is located off the wonderful Park Path. The park is meticulously maintained with a gorgeous view of Little Traverse Bay. Excellent hiking and camp sites. The star is the clean and large beach area. The Concession area was recently redone and has excellent bathroom facilities. Great place to come with families, alone or with a group of friends. Beautiful in the off season and not to be missed.

This is a beautiful spot to visit and enjoy. The looks more like an ocean and the sand dunes are both, interesting and impressive. during you walk on the beach you can amuse yourself by looking for the famous Petoskey stones.

Have only visited this park in the off season, when concessions are closed and it's too cold to swim. Very clean and quiet beach. If you walk down a little ways from the parking lot you have a perfect view of the sunset. We set up chairs and read for several hours. A few people walk by down the beach but otherwise it was very private. Definitely recommend it as a great place to spend the evening and watch the sun go down. Again, I was there is the off season, but it seemed to have decent facilities and also had a sign for kayak rentals.

So many love the lore of the "Petoskey Stone" but want to go looking for them rather than buying them in the shops. This is one place to find them. In the summer you are in competition with others but off season after a storm, you may get lucky. The beaches are so nice in the summer and a good place to enjoy Little Travers Bay. If you're really adventurous and can't find Petoskey Stones here, try Magnus Park off Lake St. Just came back..most of the tourists have gone and some good winds blew in a nice collection for my bag of stones. Enjoy the beauty around you!

Great family hike today but trails could definitely be better marked. Enjoyed searching for Petoskey stones on beach too. If they're going to charge $9/car they should at least provide a ranger to take your $$.

The state park is clean, well maintained, and right on Lake Michigan. This year the water level is up, so they lost a lot of the beach. After the winter we had, the water was pretty cold. They stopped selling ice cream at the beach concession stand, and now only sell water.

The park has a very large beach on Lake Michigan. The water there is always a beautiful blue, such as I have never seen any where else. There campground is one of the best in Michigan. All of the sites are located near to Lake Michigan. We have camped there on numerous many times. You should book your camping site well in advance as it is a very popular park.

We were here on a windy and cold afternoon, but it was still lovely. All in all we spent about three hours looking for petoskey stones and exploring the dunes. My four year old had a blast despite the weather. It was absolutely beautiful and very serene. Make sure you get your recreation pass to avoid the park fee!
