We discovered this park by accident and have been coming back every winter since. It is a great place to ski with trails that are groomed each day. There is a toll free number to call to get updated ski conditions. The trails range for easy to most difficult. Be sure and take the trail that is ungroomed but goes back by Pigeon Creek - beautiful! The staff in the lodge is very friendly and there is a fire going. You can rent skis if you need. There is no admission fee. Sledding on the hill by the lodge. We drive three hours just to come to this wonderful place to ski!

We planned a trip to go sledding in our area and a Google search lead to Pigeon Creek Park. Although GPS took us the wrong way to get to the park entrance, we found it quickly. What we experienced was as follows: Lots of parking, with easy signs to follow to find your way to the sledding hill. A nice lodge at the top of the hill, with clean bathrooms and drinking fountains, a nice fireplace and ample seating. We didn't purchase any of the food for sale, but it appeared to be snack fare - hot dogs, chips, soda and hot chocolate. Cross country skis were available to rent at very good prices. The sledding hill is divided into two parts - one a little less steep, for littler kids, but both sides have a gentle slope, that, while fast and fun, keeps kids out of harm's way, with a temporary fence at the end separating the hill from the woods. The hill is large enough for the hundred or so kids and adults who were sledding, with a path up the middle for climbing back up that was wide enough to accommodate everyone. Perfect for kids and adults, alike.

LOVE this park! The sledding hills are great and the cross-country skiing can't be beat. They rent top-of-the line skis for just $8/2hrs. I recommend getting there early on the weekends because the line can be long to rent skis. There are so many good trails that you can't cover them all in the 2 hours. It is free if you have your own skis. They've expanded the parking area so there is plenty of room now. Fun for 3 season hiking as well!

People come from hours away to ski at pigeon creek park, yet many locals are still learning that it even exists. There are nearly 12 miles of x country ski trails, all of which are groomed when the conditions allow (enough base). There is ski rental...cheap... ($8 foe 2 hours!). And some snowshoes to rent as well. There is nice safe sledding hill (bring your own sleds) and a beautiful warming house with a fireplace and bathrooms and inexpensive concessions. BEST CHILI DOGS EVER!!

My husband and I mostly visit during winter months. The cross country skiing trails are great. Some trails are even lit for nighttime skiing. There are varied degrees of trail difficulty. There is also a lodge building with snacks, restrooms and skis and snowshoes available for 2 hour rental. The charges for rental are minimal. Sledding hills are found behind the lodge, great for family trips. You won't be sorry for trying out pigeon creek!

Wonderful winter park, with well groomed cross country ski trails, inexpensive cross country rentals for the entire family, roaring fire in the lodge to warm up and share a hot cocoa after the ski course....even night skiing!

This park has very well groomed and lit trails for beginners up to advanced hikers. The surrounding woods, rivers and meadows are beautiful. We've snowshoed in the winter & hiked in the spring. This year, hoping to also use the horse trails. There is a small camping area and a horse camp there. Maps and signs clearly mark the various trails.
