We all loved the layout of the course but the condition was very disappointing. Sand traps had rocks in them the size of your fist, tee boxes were mostly dirt, overall the course needs some attention. On a positive note the staff was wonderful, from the front desk to the pro shop to the food and beverage people.

So much fun have played 18 holes here at least once a year for the past 14 years. Great views, elevations and obstacles. One of my favorite Gaylord Golf Courses. Note they also have a driving range to warm up on.

Four couples took advantage of a discount weekend of golf at Marsh Ridge. We played on a Saturday and a Sunday. The course is not that friendly to women with a lot of forced carries and blind shots, but it is something you should probably play at least once. You definitely need a cart because there are some holes where you drive through the marsh on a boardwalk for long distances. And there are a lot of elevation changes - sometimes you are teeing off above the green like you may be used too - but there are at least 2 holes where you are teeing off into a hill with huge hopes of getting over the top.The forced carries are quite interesting and sometimes you would just have to start laughing at the tee shot that you had. I mean with at least 85 - 100 yards of marsh/trees between the tee box and safety. As someone in our group said -- "I am tired from working so hard." because there were very few easy holes. The course was worn out and the maintenance was lacking. Part of the problem is they get a lot of large group play or people who really don't care about the course and do not repair any ball marks or divots. There were no rangers, and we ended up having a golf round that was held up by the people in front of us on every hole. This would be a great course to play if you had a group of buddies that wanted to really enjoy themselves on the course.

We have been going to Marsch Ridge for about 10 years and have always enjoyed.Their accommadtions are not 5 star but pretty close to 4 star, depending on the room you get.Their Condo on the 10th hole is really nice with a great view and comfortable rooms and kitchen. The Hotel type rooms are big but nothing really fancy, with a small fridge and microwave. Perhaps a little worn, but for Northern Michigan and the great price they can't be beat. Great if you have children with you.The course is well maintained and always a little different to play, some very interesting holes. The pour a nice drink, and the wine list is good. Always a nice staff.Pro Shop is small but has womens clothes too, a plus.Try the encrusted Walleye if you like fish, one of our favorite meals.Overall a nice, pleasant place to spend a few days at a good price.

After arriving in Gaylord, I called the Pro Shop to see if I, as a single, might find an opening where I could get in a quick 9 (1:20 or less).....very cooperative and helpful.....got my round in with clear sailing....I really appreciate it when Pro Shop staff take the time to help in this way, as opposed to some places where staff either can't be bothered or are seemingly oblivious to status of play on the course. Liked the layout - very scenic. Tees, especially, need some improvement, but that could be a challenge....I'm no expert on this, but I've been told that conditions like theirs (tees or greens so surrounded by trees that they don't get enough sun, enough air movement, etc) produce results like this.

We purchased a GroupGolfer deal for Marsh Ridge. I read all the reviews on line and was quite skeptical after doing so. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by the course and facilities. If you are looking for an upscale golf course this is not it. But with that being said the course was not bad at all. The fairways were tight and were in pretty good condition. The only downfall for the course were the tee boxes. They do need some work. We stayed on the premise in the Copenhagen building. The room was clean and roomy. Again, if you are looking for a 5 star resort this is not it, but if you are looking for a fun getaway with a place to lay your head at night, this is it.

My husband and I purchased a deal on GroupGolfer for Marsh Ridge. We liked the layout of the course but it needs work. The tee boxes are in very bad shape, and I've never seen so many weeds on a golf course. Could be a very nice course if some money was spent on upkeep.

This is a sound golf course with good bones. Some really fun and nice elevated tees, some narrow challenging holes, short but interesting. The downside is it needs an injection of funds. The fairways were in good shape, but the tees were really beat up and the greens were varying in quality. If you can get past that, for thirty or forty dollars it's worth a run through just don't expect it to match the fancy courses nearbyThe staff is great and made it a better experience, balanced out some of the negatives

March Ridge dropped off a little in the previous years but playing in a scrable this year allowed me to see how much it has improved. The fairways have been widened and the greens were in great shape. I enjoyed the challenges of the terrain and the price of 18 holes is very reasonable.

This has become the stomping ground of choice for our snowmobile club and we spent a week at Marsh Ridge in February. The building we were all housed in has a nice central room with community space, couches and tables/chairs, which would have been fun for gathering but other guests not in our group did NOT like us making noise. There were doors slammed in anger. Too bad those folks were put in with our big group, I did feel sorry for them! It's a great location for getting on the trail system and has a convenient restaurant. Rooms are functional if a bit shabby and in some cases, downright weird--what they call a jacuzzi suite is really a sliding door separating the bathtub (with jets) from the bedroom, so when you're using the toilet your roommate is feet away on the other side of the tub. My husband and I got a kick out of considering that romantic. (NOT) One brave soul who tried the tub said the jets were shooting out black residue. Our sliding door was hanging off the track. When you come in with wet snowmobile gear, it's serviceable. But I would be really disappointed if I came for a golf outing and expected resort accommodations as the name would imply. I heard from someone at a local store who used to work there that we were in the oldest part of the facility, which makes sense. Maybe some other rooms are much better. I reviewed the restaurant, Jac's place, separately.

Mature hardwoods add to the beauty of the course. Challeging enough for weathered golfers. Course well maintained, esthetically pleasing. Accomadating staff

The holes were very, very narrow and the trees needed to be trimmed badly. Some were blocking 1/2 the tee box. this was not by design and was clearly due to lack of grounds keeping. After seeing a couple of the workers out there, I know why. It was obvious they were hired help and not trained in golf course management. There is plenty of other good courses in the area to choose from to spend you money on.

Everything about this course will make for an unforgettable golf experience. Beautiful views and very playable for the weekend golfer. The waitstaff was great and very attentive.

Not having stayed at the hotel I can't review that, but my wife and I frequent Jacs Place for dinner. The food is excellent and a good value for what you get. It has a big enough menu to give you plenty of options and they do everything on it well. If you like a more gourmet pizza, it's a good choice. I love Oysters Rockefeller and in the summer they offer them as an appetizer. Their chef does very nice job with them. A real treat that is otherwise not available in Gaylord.
