Artworks is a gem located in downtown Big Rapids, Michigan. Exhibiting and selling Art made by local artists. It also houses classes and special traveling exhibits from artists as far away as Chicago and Mexico. Take a short detour and enjoy this oasis of creativity.

Artworks is more than a gallery. Although on the 2nd floor it does have wonderful exhibits year round, it also has a wonderful gift shop and offers exceptional classes for those interested in dabbling in the arts. Something for everyone. Art is the shop is provided by Michigan artists and priced affordably.

I like the changing exhibits and the elevator access. Guest artists bring new experiences for all to see.

If you are from the city and vacationing in Northern Michigan do not miss the opportunity to stop at Artworks. It's a community supported art gallery with a jaw dropping collection of amazing art pieces, paitings, pottery, sculpture, jewelry, plus some really unique stuff, all really well done and priced at unbelievably reasonable prices. Every year when we came up here from Houston, I would buy several pieces to ship or take back home My friends thought I spent a fortune. The gallery is on two floors of the three story building. The first floor houses a dance studio and a pottery studio complete with pottery wheels and kilns. The top floor houses artist cubicles where local artists get to work on site. THe gallery is quite large. Throughout the year Artworks offers art classes and camps for children too. It's an amazing place and worth the visit. It's located right in the historic downtown of Big Rapids. I'd go there first, then stop at the blue cow cafe across the street for lunch.
