All the way from Oxford to Boardman Road is perfect in Oakland County - I give that section of the PAT a 5!!In Lapeer County which is North of Boardman Road it is a different story. I give the trail a 2. This section of trail is left natural and does not have the asphalt or crushed stone that the Oakland Co. section has which makes it even better in my opinion, but only when it is maintained . Right now, a few sections have grass (over 18" high) that needs to be cut, branches hanging down and blocking 3/4 of the width of the trail and areas of mud. The first cut of grass south of General Squire this year just happened in July and it left a mess with all that cut grass in clumps. When the grass is tall you can not ride the trail without getting your shoes and socks wet. I am volunteering to help with the trail maintenance in Lapeer Co.
