Nice little gift shop and bathroom facilities. Don't forget your bucket of corn to feed the ducks and geese with. Come in the spring and you can see the wildlife sitting on their nests or even with their newly hatched broods. Perfect place to go with young children and strollers. Pack a picnic. Very reasonably priced!

This place is a wonderful walk with an opportunity to see lots of birds. The purpose of this sanctuary is to house birds that can no longer live safely in the wild and to allow breeding of birds like the trumpeter swan. There are a great number of ducks, geese, and swans as well as eagles, owls, and hawks. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. I, and the children, spent about an hour and a half walking around. They have feed which you can give to the birds. A nice enjoyable day.

during our stay in the Kzoo area we enjoyed the Wednesday morning Bird and Coffee walk at the Bird Sanctuary. The folks here really know their stuff! We were supplied with very good binoculars and were assisted with setting them up and using them properly. We saw over a dozen species of birds and enjoyed the brisk morning walk through the park.

This is close by Yarrow and a nice place to walk the trails or take pictures. I believe you can fish out here too.

We planned a trip her and were not disappointed at all. It is a beautiful spot with many birds to see!

Having the idea of touring attractions off I-94 and seeing parts of Michigan that you would never think of seeing, the W.K. Kellogg Bird Sanctuary came to mind. It is in collaboration with MSU which has a small campus nearby all dedicated to nature. After a winding drive to find the place, it features a small gift shop where you buy your $4 admission pass. The actual path is 3/4 mile with a nice lake loop. However the birds are mostly caged and here because they cannot fly. Owls, eagles and such are miserable. Mostly you see geese, ducks and herons. After 15 minutes you have seen enough and you wonder why this place exists. No food, there are picnic tables. Hardly worth the time even for kids.
