the encore theatre

I love and I hate it. I can't afford to go. It was great. It is the kind of entertainment that I grew up knowing that my friends that were only children and who had Aunts who had money took them to. And I always said "Someday, I will take my kids to experiences like that". Well, we have experiences like that here in Dexter. Wonderful experiences, wonderful talent. You don't have to travel to New York or Chicago. You can look at some of these young people and say "I knew them when.." These people deserve to be paid, much much more than they are. But I can't afford to take my family.

The Encore Theatre in Dexter puts on quality musicals. I have seen several shows and they have all been terrific. It's a very small, intimate theatre with no bad seats. Lots of local talent, with Broadway actors mixed in.

We have been to several shows (e.g., Oklahoma, Guys and Dolls, Light in the Piazza, 3 men and tenor, Sound of Music, Music Man) and have really enjoyed most of them. The theatre is small so you get a very intimate experience. Some of the talent is broadway quality, and the rest is top local talent. We will be back for many more shows...

We truly enjoyed the musical performance Feb. 18th entitled. Smokey Joe's Cafe.It is there until Feb 26th.
