I am a Chicagoan. As such I am accustomed to courses that are a bit overdeveloped/over marketed in my opinion. Clearbrook brings me back to the more simple, less complicated days of yesteryear (remember those?). I feel like I am truly on vacation away from the crazy life in the big city while playing there. That is the whole point for visiting Saugatuck, isn't it? The Ravines which is nearby is very nice, but has the same feel as Chicago courses.

An out-of-town visitor would never be aware of this gem. I think there are 3 roadsigns advertising it, but it is not in "downtown" Saugatuck, so it would be easily missed. And people tend to assume tourist want to eat in the middle of things, not at the fringe. That said, it's probably among the top 3 places in Saugatuck/Douglas to eat. Many people from Holland (10 miles north) come here to dine, rather than in Holland.Despite the "country club" name, it's open to the public, and tourists would be welcome.. If you couldn't see the golf course, you'd assume it was a fine restaurant. Open all year around.

Have had dinner here on several occasions and the food is always great, service is excellent and the scenery is perfect for a night out with a group of friends or just the two of us.The wine selection is excellent and have enjoyed the 10 for $10 which is a fantastic deal.Had the meatloaf and loved it.

I eat regularly at Clearbrook, and I believe it is the best restaurant in the Saugatuck/Douglas area. The whitefish is incredible --- But so is everything else. Steve and the guys are great and very knowledgeable about their foods and wines.

Some of the best Walleye we have ever had, outdoor dining area is spacious, surrounded by lovely gardens. We went back for a second dinner during our stay in the Saugatuck area.

The menu offered everything from seafood, to steaks, to poultry, and had a special I couldn't say no to. I had the fish (can't remember the name), served on a rice medley and it was excellent as well as was the price. They had several items on the menu from steak, fish, poultry, as a fixed low price. It was like 10 at $10.00 or something like that. which you wouldn't expect as a golf house. The view was incredible, the service was outstanding, and the whole experience was very much worth the visit. Will definitely go there again in the very near future.

The greens and fairways were in good condition. We gave it three stars because there were virtually no signage or directions, which we found to be a problem since we had never played the course before. Good luck finding the 10th tee. Watch out for the geese and their leavings. Might want to take a towel.☺ As for the par threes, most are over water even from the women's tees which are between 125 to 135 yards. A bit of a stretch, but doable.

Come on! Can't you hire some teen to bbg some hotdogs so you can at least have something to eat at the turn?

If you want BIG food and good food at an amazingly reasonable price, check out Clearbrook. Plus, the view of the beautifully manicured golf course and gardens (floral and herb) is an added bonus!

Greens good, fairways pretty good, sandwiches and beer or pop at the turn only, no dining until 5:30, would have liked a late lunch in the nice bar area. A bit daunting, many hit to a flag you cannot see from the tee box, good internet price

We visited MI to golf for three days. We are not pro's by any means but loved the course. I had read a couple reviews that rated the place terrible. Apparently is must be different from which local golfers are used to, but for us it was a neat place to golf. Our home course is similar with hills, heather, trees etc so we were sort of use to that type of course. The first person that checked us in was very "snooty" however we stayed for an additional 9 holes after playing 18 and that second staff person was much nicer. All in all we loved playing the course and would consider playing again at some point in the future.

We were surprised that this golf club served very excellent food. We loved their whitefish with almonds and the Mackinaw Fudge Sundae.....loved it a little too much.

Great food, pretty winter views, excellent waitstaff. We return here each time we go to Saugatuck! Tons of snow falling on New Year's Eve made this trip especially pretty!

We vacation in MI every summer & have golfed at many courses up the Lake Michigan coast. I tried this course one weekday. It is an older course & I usually like the older courses because they have character. This course was interesting enough, but nothing special. The gentleman who took my fees was nice enough, but didn't really seem like he cared whether I was there or not. The course was in just okay shape. I wasn't told that there were leagues already on the course. Once I ran into them play ground to a stop. I may play there again, but there are many much nicer courses in the area. I didn't dine there, but did see that they had a nice patio dining area.

We sat outside with a beautiful view of the golf course; had salmon on a cedar plank. Everyone enjoyed their meals.
