As an Episcopalian, I wanted to visit and while at Betsy Ross, it is only a block away. However, regardless of your faith this is a colonial must see. The origins to the Penn family and the church of George Washington and many other founding fathers while the capitol was here make it an historical treasure. Not to mention at the time of the Declaration it was the tallest building in the colonies. Still go inside and they have great tours provided by caring parishioners. I loved hearing about the church. The font is from the Penn family's original home parish in England and for centuries Penn's have been baptized in it. Also as the guide says the most enlightened part of the building is the clear glass windows which was a rarity when it was built. Take the time to visit and you will be rewarded with a colonial gem.

soi hay que ir. con 319 anos de histoira y de saber que por la liberta de religion la hicieron. An authentic American historic site - still doing today what it started doing 319 years ago. Families and groups can visit the church and burial ground to gain a deeper understanding of our early history and the importance of religious freedom

Sit in the very seats where some of our Founding Fathers worshiped. A truly beautiful Church, and a nice place to sit and relax while sight seeing.

A very old building for US terms (end of the 1600's) with interesting details. Interesting as part of an old town walk.

It is a place filled with real history, to be in the same building as our forefathers is inspiring. It is in a great part of the city

A beautiful church with large windows, great colonial architecture in Philladelphia's "old city". Quiet and cool inside on a humid summer's day, sun streaming through the large windows, illuminating the classis woodwork. What sermons did they preach during the Revolution ? Who sat in the old wooden pews (wonderfully preserved) ? Check out the wooded graveyard and look for some of the lesser known "founders" of America.Awesome.

I had a wonderful talk with a docent about the Church itself and about colonial rector William White and black minister Absalom Jones. I sat in Benjamin Franklin's pew and was most interested in a display case about the bells in the spire.

Loved this church which is still used for worship today. The integrity of the inside and out has been maintained. Very interesting to enter and see the pews set up in family boxes. Also interesting to see some of the floor burial markers which was common for the more wealthy church members. Very friendly docent and lovely gift shop. They ask for a small donation which to me was well worth the visit.

After seeing Liberty Hall we walked over to Ben Franklin's gravesite and saw this church in our way to grab a cheesesteak. I'm glad we stopped in for a visit. You can sit in the pew that George Washington or Benjamin Franklin sat in with their families.

Lovely church, well maintained, easily accessible, knowledgeable docents. Another original building that has been maintained quite well. Interesting to be in a church where so many of our founding fathers worshiped.

Yet another Philadelphia historic beauty! Walk around the neighborhood and stop in to see where Benjamin Franklin and George Washington worshiped.

Other reviewers have said it already but this is a very interesting place to visit. To see up close and personal a place where George Washington and Ben Franklin used to sit for church. That's history that you just can't get in the mid west where I live. I would visit again and maybe spend some more time learning more about the history of the church.

This was a quick visit for us - about 10 minutes. It was fascinating to sit where George Washington and Benjamin Franklin sat during church.

This church's congregation has included Ben Franklin, George Washington and Betsy Ross and apparently 15 signers of the Delcaration of Independence worshipped in this historic church which is the birthplace of the American Episcopal church so very interesting. They have a small gift shop on the way in and they ask for a donation which we gladly gave to preserve this historic church. We sat in GW's pew and listened to the end of a free tour given by a docent volunteer. Last time I was here there was an historic English bell in the church which was missing this time, but the very nice lady at the entrance said they are building a special base for the bell to be mounted on and it's in the middle of a restorative project so will be nice when that returns.
