I played here as a single. Not a single as part of a group. Simply a single. I played a 2 hour round. There were more people maintaining the course then playing the course. I caught up to one group in front of me and saw maybe one other 4some all day.The strange 3 holes across the street are simply okay. The first of them is a wet mess. The par 3 is nice because of Milton Hershey's Mansion in the distance. The course otherwise is nice but uninteresting. Beautifully landscaped. If I would have paid $80 I may have been more forgiving. But $160 to play on a Wednesday is criminal. Maybe lower your rates to market rate and you will have a few players on the course. We routinely pay $110 to play Architects just over the NJ border and never think twice. Its head and shoulders better than this course.

Note that there are two courses here - the West, a classic course from the Golden Age of Golf Architecture, and the East, a rather blasé (in my opinion) course from the age when length was more important than strategy. The East (the one with all the elevated greens) can be played without too much difficulty. I truly agree that there are courses around that are much less expensive and more fun.But the West . . . you must (it says here,) play with a member or be staying at the Hershey Hotel or Lodge. Before you play it, pick up Education of a Golfer by Sam Snead, and read the excellent anecdotes in chapter two. It's a wonderful parkland course, not long, not difficult (if you can hit the ball relatively straight,) but oh so peaceful and serene. Play it, and pretend you're walking along with Snead, Hogan and Picard.

Whild this is regarded as a resort course, it plays more like a public course. At $136 i was expecting smoother greens and pristine scenery. The course must have 12 elevated greens, not fun golf. Go 10 miles east to Fairview and get a better course and better round for only $28

Played a round on my yearly golf outing. Nice course with a good mix of challenging and less difficult holes. Greens were in great shape and we were glad we included in the trip. Would definitely go back if I had the chance.

We held my daughters wedding reception at the Country Club using one room in the main part of the building for hors d'oeuvres and cocktails, then moved to a larger reception hall on the golf course for dinner and the reception. The meal was as we sampled, although appeared to be small portions, all our guests did seem to be satisfied. The staff work very hard before during and after the meal to provide a higher level of service, unfortunately they seem short handed, and as a result there was a noticeable lack in service. All in all my daughter had a wonderful day and I have never seen her so happy. With the country clubs reputation and price tag, I was expecting a higher level of service. My one caution would be to be very aware of the charges, for what is included, what are extras, and what you may have not been made aware of when the final amount is totaled.

I had the pleasure of playing this course last week while staying at the Hotel Hershey. It was in great shape and quite a test. Greens were fast, about an 11, and the rough was about 3-4 inches. Very fair layout. I didn't bring my clubs, but they furnished me with a brand new set of TaylorMade Rbz-Wow! Loved it.

I have golfed here several times. the staff is very helpful. the course is always in great shape. The only complaint I have is the barking dog that you can hear all over the course from one of the near by townhouses. Worth the price to golf on this course. Send the kids to the park and go.

Book a early tee time and be done in time to meet the family for fun in the park. No offence a lot of new yorkers and jersey people who dont count every stroke...jk great course

The golf was wonderful- it always is regardless of where I play. The course is wide open and the greens were straight forward. Not as challenging as I thought it would be. My husband & I were staying at the Hershey Lodge and played on a Monday. Steep price($138 ea) and we're from LI,NY. The grill was closed and an outing was taking place on the other course so we never saw the cart girl. A bit disappointing as a nice Ice tea after would have been lovely. We went out as a twosome but were rushed from behind by a single.

Although it is not easy to play there, you need to be a guest of a member, or a guest at Hershey Hotel or Hershey Lodge. A traditional layout built in 1930, the greens are great and it calls for great strategy to shoot a good round.

big, tall, old trees lining the fairways... some holes with chocolate smells wafting over the tee boxes... well manicured... very enjoyable...

Obviously, golf on an A-rated course and the promise of chocolate at the end, Heaven here on earth.

Played in a regional amateur tour event this past weekend. Course was in excellent shape and was nice, but the staff at the Country Club made it painfully obvious they did not want us there. Sad too, I'd like to see the event remain on our schedule.

A very fair course, great service in the clubhouse, I had a very nice outing. When I arrived, there wasn't a person at the golf bag drop (but it was a very slow day). However, within a minute a staffer showed up and took my bag and immediately delivered it to my cart.Very friendly people and nice amenities, very comfortable club house. The course is very fair and challenging. All holes had a close fairway, so none of the nonsense 200 yards to the fairway shots with bunkers to the left and right like you are starting to see more often (I am an intermediate golfer).I played the West course, and I thought two of the holes rather odd. The first was the par 3 uphill shot, across a paved road up to the Hershey Mansion. After that was a par 4 (?) that had no real landing fairway. A very steep vertical drop and then an odd approach to the green with a creek right smack in the middle of the 'fairway'. The only other issue was getting from one tee to the next. Its a bit confusing on three or four of the holes where to go to next, and is not really clearly marked. This was just on a few holes, and if you were to play the course again, I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem.A challenging, but fun course. I did think it was a bit overpriced at a $140, but everything combined (clubhouse, etc.), it made for an enjoyable day. I would play there again and plan to on my next trip.
