The Merle Phillips Park is home to many great event in Sunbury from the Renaissance Fair in June to the Sunbury River Festival in August to the Wine and Brew Fest in September !. When these great events are not going on, its a great place to walk along the river ( the loop along the park and the river is scenic & just under 3 miles), Yoga is also offered outside at the Amphitheater from mid spring though Sept! Enjoy a picnic by the river, boaters can also take advantage of this to due to the public docks. A waste of tax papers money- I think not - thousands of people from all over the Susquehanna River Valley and neighboring states enjoy many activities here and there's always something new in the works!! Thank you Sunbury!

This park is a narrow strip between Front Street and The Susquehanna, broken up by the dike wall. There's nowhere to park and few people use this unnecessary expense. What a waste of taxpayer dollars.

There is not a lot here, but it is a decent place to walk. There is a gazebo to sit in that gives a great view of the river and surrounding area. There is a paved walk way along the river for avid walkers. It looks to be about a kilometer long. A lot of people take their dogs for walks here. So if you like dogs you can see quite a few here.
