Three and a half miles of bliss. Can be done in four seasons. No pets/bikes allowed. My favorite season is autumn- the trees are priceless. Walkers and joggers alike. No bathrooms.

This was a lovely, serene, wooded walk around a lake. It was very pleasant to find such a setting (we felt as if we were in the country) near the downtown of a city. We didn't have time to walk around the entire lake; someone we passed said that there was a bear cub frolicking in one spot.

Scranton Lake is actually a man-created and is a source of drinking water for the city of Scranton. The 3+ mile walk around the lake is peaceful...and good exercise. Parking is a bit of a problem (but not a significant barrier). Don't bring your dog...pets are not permitted.

I have been walking Lake Scranton for years. It's a little over 3 miles all around. They have mile markers which I like. I've gone both ways around to see which direction has less inclines. About even. No dogs, bicycles and no crowds to run into. Only ducks, geese and deer. It is a very pleasant walk with the water and trees all around. It also has a bridge and a inlet with an overlook.

Close by , easy walking path with ample parking. Nice going around the lake in all of the seasons, but fall is spectacular.

I love walking this 3.5 mile path, either alone or with a friend. No dogs or bikes allowed! Great scenery with all of the trees and the lake. It is a wide paved road and the only traffic is the occasional water company vehicle--watch out for them, especially if you are walking with headphones in your ears. The squirrels will walk right up to you expecting food...even follow behind you for a little bit! I've also seen deer approach people and a woman feed one an apple from her hand! I don't recommend doing this though.Great place to go just to walk and clear your mind. Very relaxing and a nice little getaway if you live in the city. Keep in mind--no bathroom facilities!

As the other reviewers said, it is a beautiful place to walk. The land is owned by the Pennsylvania American Water Company and is made available for public use. There is a parking lot right off of Rt. 307 just on the outskirts of the city and I don't know if there are other lots. The path around the lake is fully paved and in some parts is a closed road, making it an easy walk for those with strollers. The short path from the lot to the lake is a standard dirt hiking trail. Keep in mind that this is not a public park and so there are no bathroom or other facilities. Since I'm from out of town, I didn't anticipate that. Also, there is no swimming or boating, but there are some interesting sights and lovely views. It was well worth the visit and I'd walk/jog there again on my next trip to Scranton.

The path goes all the ways around the lake. This is the perfect time of the year to go for a walk around the lake. I believe it is 3 miles all the way around.

You would think walking or running the same 3.57 mile loop several times a week would be mundane. Not a chance! Whether it's a leisurely stroll or running laps to keep fit, there is always something new around the next bend. The people and the scenery make the 3 1/2 miles seemingly fly by. There are several ups & downs which make it great for runners and the constantly changing views of the lake always command your attention. One minute you are right next to the lake and the next you are in a stretch of pleasant woods walking. There is no better place to take in the 4 Seasons! For the seasoned runner, there are several 'secret' side paths which lead to old mine roads each having a character all their own. Recent logging has made these less appealing so just stick to the Lake Path for now. The squirrels are so tame they will come right up to you looking for a handout, but resist the temptation. Whether you are 8 or 88, the Lake Path will invite you in & rejuvenate you! Note: The wide, paved path is maintained by a utility company so it's in fine shape but always yield to the occasional vehicle you may encounter.

Embark on a 3.5 mile loop around a reservoir. The path is paved and is often shady. You get great views of the lake and some wildlife. I had a red-tailed hawk land right above me on a limb and it allowed me to take its picture. I also saw some wild turkeys. This is a nice place for a solo walk or with your family and friends. There is no admission fee and parking is provided. It was an afternoon well spent. I got a workout, saw some sights, and talked to a few friendly walkers.

Lake Scranton is a beautiful place to take a loving walk with someone special and an awesome jogging trail for the health enthusiast. With the ambient temperatures of the Lake, the calm nature of the water and the occasional wildlife, a definitely good place to walk or run!

Mostly level and paved surface with a slight grade in one portion.Saw a red tail hawk from a few feet on a low branch, it just stayed on the branch as we walked on by also saw what appeared to be a beaver in the brook.

This path led us through the cool, peaceful woods, and then out to a beautiful view of the lake. We saw some type of a hawk sitting on a tree branch and then 3 baby deer as we were leaving the woods. The stone bridge is beautiful also. The 3.5 mile path gave us our exercise for the day!Bring your camera!
