We visited this wonderful living museum while vacationing in the Poconos. It proved to be an interesting and engaging experience for our entire family. Our grandchildren, at two and six years old, enjoyed every minute.

The Farm was amazing. Beautiful and the actors were wonderful. The kids 3, 6, 8 were all engaged and really enjoyed the visit. Didn't want to leave. Lots of fun seeing the animals and listening to the actors.

I first visited this living museum in the early 80's with my grandparents and this year, brought my own two children. Excellent as always!

We found Quiet Valley Living Historical Farm in the "Poconos Today" brochure. We frequent the Poconos and are always looking for something new to keep us busy. Quiet Valley Farm was perfect! We picked the perfect day with the weather and they also offered craftsmen there to show us how they made baskets, embroidered, etc. We were able to go on each tour that was offered that day, guided by knowledgeable and engaging volunteers. Each person was in costume and stayed in the part they played of the family that had lived there. We also got to see the many animals they had on the farm and the huge gardens that gave them food. The samples of bread that they baked in the old oven were delicious and warm added to the "authentic" feel of it! We paid $8 per adult to enter the farm and all proceeds from that fee went to running it since they keep the farm going through generous people and donations. It was well worth the small price we paid!

While visiting the Poconos we decided to check out Quiet Valley and were delighted with our experience there. Our group consisted of 4 adults and 2 kids, ages 9 and 12, and we all found the farm interesting and informative. The "guides" told us about life in the 1800's by showing us the barn, the farmhouse and even the one room school house. They were very knowledgeable and stayed within their role as they explained their life so long ago. I think anyone would benefit from visiting this living museum.

We found this farm to be very educational and interesting. All the people are in character. They act like this is their 1880 farmhouse. They describe how their grandfather came to this country and cleared the land, planted crops and went about their daily life. It is a real eye opener! I was particularly impressed by the items that were made with gourds. They also had beautiful Clydesdale horses that drove the cart on tour as well as all the other animals to be found on a farm.

On a beautiful day our trip to Quiet Valley was outstanding. The only draw back was the horde of school age children that arrived just ahead of us. That being said, they were very well behaved and asked very pertinent questions that helped us all learn more.

Came for the Farm Animal Frolic. The price to get in was $8 p/p, the 6 year old was $5 and our 2yr old was free. Not SO bad right?..I guess..but EVERYTHING ELSE was extra money. And since this place is about the size of an oversized backyard- I just didn't think it was worth the money. We were expecting frolicking baby animals, but it was more like two bunnies in a cage the kids could pet, a couple ducklings and chicks they could pet. thats about it. Everything else was untouchable and in cages, NOT FROLICKING. My suggestion would be, to have free admission and let the money be earned through all the food and horse rides and games and souvenirs. The food is ...mehh... but the homemade souvenirs are cute. Skipped the $4 p/p wagon ride because we felt $16 to see the woods was silly. Cute place for little kids but we probably won't return, we work too hard for our money- and when we finally splurge for a little family outing- we want it to be worth every penny.

What a really nice place to spend the day with your family. They have different specialty weekends throughout the season. Take the kids and spend the day.

Step back in time and visit Quiet Valley. It is staffed by volunteers who re-enact life in the 1800s at a working farm. The barns, homestead, smokehouse, oven are authentic and used daily. Perfect place for families and anyone who enjoys living history! Our favorite spot is the barn, visiting the mules and pigs!

This "living" farm has something for everyone, with homemade period style food, animals and examples of living in an earlier time period. Watch for special weekends, like the harvest festivals, which are particularly fun. We have been there several times with family and other couples.

Quiet Valley Historic Farm shows how farming was. Excellent place to take children. Much time and effort were taken to portray authentic historic farming.
