Every year, Rushing Waters hosts an aquaculture day in July. On this day, families can come out and fish for free while only paying for the weight of the fish they catch. This means about $8 a fish from my experience. It is a great opportunity for the kids to be successful in fishing with really little effort. We wanted to let the kids each catch the fish and were done in about 15 minutes. Just remember that you must pay for what you catch, big or small. The only drawback is that the access to the pond is not handicap accessible. I watched a gentleman try to navigate a wheelchair down the gravel roadway with much difficulty. Otherwise, this is a nice family place. You can take the fish home with you or the restaurant will cook them up!

We were staying for the weekend with the kids at Lake Lawn Resort, and decided to take the kids up to Rushing Waters to fish for trout. Everyone at the trout farm was nice and helpful. They provide you with everything you need to fish. We fished in a little pond full of trout, which were easy to catch. You pay for what you catch, and they will clean it for you. They've got a little shop and will be opening a restaurant (?) soon, in a lovely newly built building. It was a fun afternoon. Perfect for kids.
