franklin hill vineyards

We didn't go to the vineyards, we went to the tasting room in Bethlehem. The tasting room is very small and there are no chairs so you need to stand all the time. The wine was just OK, nothing special.

We've been to Franklin Hill a few times and really enjoy it. The staff is very inviting and fun. No stuffy, old-school winery here, but plenty of very good wine. We have brought a few visitors to this winery and they've always enjoyed it too. They aren't open very late on weekends, which is unfortunate, because sometimes it is late in the afternoon by the time we're ready to stop being productive and start drinking wine.

My fiancé & I enjoyed this winery very much. It's very beautiful. The wine was delicious the tastings are free! We bought 8 bottles the wine was so tastey! The staff is wonderful & extremely friendly. We took a free tour which was also fun. It's definitely worth a try!

My wife and I always visit the regional wineries whenever we travel. We discovered this gem on one trip to Pennsylvania. Quality crafted wines with a flavor to match anyone's taste. A few of my choices are "fainting goat" and "bliss". One of their newest wines is flavored like cotton candy. Definitely check them out

We visited the actual vineyards in Bangor. Tastings during the week are free. You try 6 wines. You chose. It's pretty cool. They also had dips and cheese that you can enjoy. The only downside was that the girl, although super friendly, was not very informative of the wines. Also, the tour of the vineyards was not really promoted. Would have been nice to see the vineyards. We also visited their Tannersville location and the man there was very informative! Our favorites are Catawba and Katie's Creek, and their pomegranate flavor was amazing.

Coming from the Virginia wine country, we love to check out the local fair while vacationing. thank god for GPS as Franklin is little off the beaten path, through a field, past a farm..... Beautiful little tasting room and some very nice selections to taste. Left with several bottles. As the DD I was happy to get complementary snacks and water, in fact the tasting is also complementary but limited to 6. worth the drive, we will return when back in the area.

After visiting the winery for the first time, you are sure to go back. Their selection of wines and cheeses are sure to please most people's taste.

A little hard to get to but a beautiful sight to see. Great vineyard with a wine tasting bar stocked with winery gifts and bottles of wine for purchase. Perfect for our Sunday drive in the country.

I visited this vineyard with my husband, parents and 3 year old. Their tastings are complimentary, what a perk! They also have dips that are fabulous. Glasses are $5 and bottles average $11. The outdoor patio is the perfect little spot to enjoy a glass. A nice spot to relax. The staff was informative and friendly.

This review is specifically for their retail sales and tasting room in Tannersville, PA. We didn't visit the vineyard.We've become skeptical of local and regional wineries. They tend to be overpriced with wines of very uneven quality. Still, there isn't any other really good way to get an overview of an area's wine industry without stepping into a few of these places. So, we weren't expecting a whole lot when we went in. There were two pleasant surprises. The first was the two young women who were operating the place. You couldn't ask for two friendlier people to host the tasting, and they were knowledgeable about the product they were selling. The second was price. We are used to seeing local wineries pricing their product from $20 to $35 dollars a bottle. Franklin Hill's offerings were mostly$11 to $14. We ended up buying a bottle of Simply Red for $12.Disappointment set in later when we got back to the room and opened it. We poured glasses for ourselves, took a sip, and waited to experience the taste. There was a moment of silence. Usually when the wine is good, the silence is followed by approving nods. In this case the moment of silence was longer. Then I said, "This isn't very good. I don't think I want to drink it." My wife agreed. It had very little "wine" taste and mostly just tasted like slightly salty water.I don't know if it tasted different from the one we drank from at the store, or if it just tasted worse when you weren't trying to be nice to the people who work there. Whatever. I got up, poured it out, and opened a bottle of Two-Buck Chuck.

Visit to the vineyard and wine tasting was the icing on the cake. The scenic drive from Bushkill. PA to Franklin Hill Vineyards was truly amazing and peaceful. There is something awesome and beckoning about the Delaware River.The vineyard is somewhat smaller than many I have visited over time, and in different parts of the world; but let that not dissuade you. Franklin Hill Vineyards is every bit as professional; the staff is expert. Explanations left no one in our group with unanswered questions, from planting grapes, to caring, harvesting, processing, bottling, labelling, packing, and shipping. The most interesting story, of course, is the Vineyard's beginnings how the owner (Elaine Pivitsky) fell in love with the property... and the rest is history.... But do not let me spoil it for you. Go to Bangor, Pennsylvania at the foot of The Poconos; some of the most beautiful scenery your camera will ever record... visit the winery, have a little nosh and sip TRIO while you hear this wonderfully ambitious story. It will warm your heart and you will say BRAVO!Wine is available for purchase along with many flavours of jam, salsa, biscuits, candles, and many more too numerous to mention here.... Don't take my word for it... go to BANGOR, PA, and visit The Franklin Hill Winery.You will fall in love with Funnyface the resident black and white cat.We purchased three bottles of wine - TRIO, EVANSWOOD RED TABLE WINE AND CHAMBOURCIN; drank TRIO with filet mignon for dinner that evening and transported the other two reds to our Canadian home.

First of all it's a beautiful little winery, and if your looking for something out of the ordinary there's a good chance of finding it here. When we arrived they were introducing their Cotton Candy Wine, new for this year. It's very good, I myself could not drink a lot of it, but that's just me. They have 23 wines for sampling and the specialty wines are my favorite, especially the Pomegranate Peach. Another favorite is Fainting Goat, it's a black cherry wine and delicious. If your visiting the Allentown area and want to sample some fine wines, head for Franklin Hill. We left with four bottles and hope to return for more. Who knows what flavor they'll have next!

Tried some very different wines here. Their RED HEAD win was amazing, as was the Fainting Goat and many of the other wines as well. The staff was super friendly and made us feel welcome. I wound up buying three bottle of wine, but I realized later that day that I should have bought more. I LOVED it!

Really nice little winery. We sat and had a tasting (amazingly at no cost) and talked to the staff for an hour or so. They had some nice snacks. We ended up taking a couple bottles home.

First of all the place itself is so beautiful! You could just sit there and take in the view. The ladies behind the "bar" were hysterical. We chatted about everything (including nursing) while we tasted our wine...which was delicious! We left with a case full of wine and will be back for more!
