This ski resort is conveniently located a short distance from the highway. Everyone in the dining area, stores, ticketing, transportation, and rentals was very friendly and patient! The lockers and changing areas were spacious and clean.I had taken the Discovery package for beginners. The lessons were set up well and included different stations to teach you the skills you need to ski as a beginner. The instructors were very good and patient. They were also encouraging. After they were confident that I had the skill at each station, I was able to move to the next station. Once I was done with all skill stations, I practiced on the beginners slopes that were well-maintained. I felt very good after my lesson and was confident to ski without an instructor. This is a great place for beginners, because the stations allow you to keep practicing until you attain the ski skill needed for a beginner. The resort was cozy and had good food which you could eat on the deck facing the slopes. It was very enjoyable and peaceful to watch the skiers and snowboarders move really fast on the tougher slopes. I look forward to coming here again to ski on more slopes and advance my ski skills!

Staff was friendly, lines at the lifts were not bad. Visited all the trails except the black diamonds, great shape snow, no ice! It was crowded on saturday afternoon (as expected), but started to clear out around dinner.

Went down to the Bear Creek Ski area this afternoon and was pleasantly surprised to find a decent ski area within an 1 hour drive from my home. I have three children under 12, so this type of ski area is great for little ones trying to learn their way on the slopes. I was expecting to find no more than 3-5 trails, so I was pleasantly surprised to find many trails, somewhere around 20? They had a mixture of blue trails mixed in, but most of the trails were green. They did have a few black trails and 3 terrain parks. Most of the lifts hold 3-4 people and move at decent speeds. The trails are all lit for night skiing, making the hours for skiing open for visits at all times of the day. We used the 4-hour lift ticket option which saved us some money for the lift tickets. They do offer tubing, and we hope to check that out next time as it looked pretty cool.I did not like the magic carpet belt for the beginner slope. They make you take off your ski's (bigger resorts don't make you do this) and it runs super slow. Also, the parking was a ways off from the resort area (shuttle offered to prevent walks), but the parking area was a mud hole and probably needs to be paved or graveled. Also, the terrain parks were very crowded with teenagers that used allot of foul language and talked about being "drunk". Not exactly the place to hangout on the mountain if you have little ones. This isn't the fault of the ski resort, however they could patrol this area a bit more and cut down on the language. Food for thought. All in all, a great visit today and I would highly recommend this mountain for anyone in my situation. If you are traveling with all experts, look elsewhere.

Bear Creek is a nice Family Ski Mountain, A mountain where the whole family can learn to ski and then use their skills on the mountain. It is also a great warm up mountain. I (am almost 70) like to go there to warm up for the season. A group of expert skiers may want to go elsewhere, but for a group of various skill levels this is indeed a very nice mountain. After a day of skiing it is nice to have a full service bar & grille. .... I have skied in Europe, and New England, in the West, and in Canada (East & West), if I was to design a mountain for learning to ski on, Bear Creek would petty much be it.

While the atmosphere is nice, the experience that my fiancee and I had with the food and the service at "The Grille at Bear Creek", which is the sit-down, full-service bar & grille at Bear Creek Mountain, was poor. We waited far too long for both our appetizer and our main course. All we wanted was a warm dinner, and we ordered accordingly. It was served to us cold and undesirable. Further, the quality of the food was poor, as both of us felt sick to our stomach for the rest of the evening. The service was, at best, ok. For such a nice atmosphere of the buildings and the resort, we expected the service and the food to match, and that was a big let-down.

I love having a respectable ski resort within a 40 minute drive from my house. Decent trails, fun terrain park, and the tubbing hill looks fun (never done it though). I got my wife a private lesson from April. She was great!! I highly recommend her for a beginners private lesson. Bear Creek is a great compromise for those of you who don't want to waste your time at tiny Spring Mountain but are too lazy to drive an extra 1/2 hour to get to Blue Mountain.

I really enjoyed skiing this mountain. The place is great, and the lifts and lodge are modern, clean and cool. The ski runs where cute and are awesome when you are a beginner, but also fun for all kinds of skiiers. The restaurant was great too, and has a great view of the mountain.

This is not a VT or western ski resort. But for the SE Pennsylvania and NJ locals, it is a great place for a day of skiing.Slopes are mostly blue or green and accomplished skiers will be bored. But for most everyone else, it is a great deal of fun!

Hit the slopes Saturday night. Took the kids to practice skills. Parking was good, ticketing quick and rentals efficient for the kids. Had the shop wax my skis, and they performed well. Overall the area is small but skis very well. Grooming and terrain parks are excellent. Steeps are short but nice. The lodge and atmosphere are excellent. Everything was well worth the cost. For a short ride/ local ski area, I highly recommend. Look at it like this; Its Quality, not Quantity. Great for kids. Btw, various off the map tree/ glade runs. Beginner glades they are.

We've been coming to Bear Creek for several years; however, this year, they ran out of tickets for the last four elementary age children..............why couldn't they bend the rules to include 4 kids in our group of 29 people??????

I really enjoyed the women's first timers clinic with Mary and Cathy. This is a great beginners mountain and when I bring my husband back we can see what the blue diamonds are like :)

We had the opportunity to ski this area with our 8 and 6 year old grandchildren on New Years Day.In spite of limited snow, the day was very enjoyable. We had friends and family (a total of 5 kids and 6 adults. All levels of skiers but a great time was had by all.Outdoor pool was fun for the kids and the indoor restaurant and bar was perfect for the adults. Staff at the resort was exceptional.

We recently traveled to Bear Creek Resort with a party of 18. Only 7 of the 18 had ever been on a snowboard of skis before which made the trip even more fun and exciting. Our vacation started off just right with the beyond EXCEPTIONAL check in and support from Front Desk Manager Marrell. He is AWESOME!! not only did he keep our entire party together but he made sure that every expectation that I had told the family about the resort was met. He goes above and beyond for the guests! We are already scheduled to come back ! Thanks again.

The snowboard park is perfect... and the trails were great for our kids who are beginner skiers... we were there the week before Christmas and due to the fact all trails were not open the resort was not crowded at all which was AWESOME for us !!! There's an outdoor heated pool and hot tub... as well as an indoor... plus a game room.... plus the Grille at Bear Creek has a great bar and live band. Dinner at the Grille was very nice... The room was perfect for the four of us. Spa is great. They offer hotel ski rental and ski check which is nice... you just walk from your room to the ski shop and gear up and go. Bear Creek is our new go-to ski resort... and it's super close to home! P.S.... staff and front desk help were super friendly and helpful.

This is one of the smaller ski resorts in Eastern PA but is a great place for the beginner or novice skier. It is not very far from points in Montgomery county or from Philadelphia. If you want a larger mountain then your are in for a much longer drive. My kids are all beginners so Bear Creek was perfect for them. They have excellent lesson packages that include lifts and rentals and they really work well with the kids on their skills. All three of my kids had really good time.As other reviewers have mentioned, the lodge is really nice with a couple of fireplaces and lots of tables/chairs. Unfortunately, there are some people who put all their crap at a table for 10 and leave one of their parents there to squat on the table all day. I guess that happens everywhere. Most people were nice enough to share a table when they see that you're looking for a spot to sit and eat your meal, though.
