This park is peaceful, quiet, well-kept and close to some metro areas. It's easy to spend a day in the nature. The lake is beautiful and large enough for boating, canoeing or kayaking. While I haven't fished there, I've seen plenty doing just that. There are plenty of hiking on clear trails that don't require intense hiking gear. There are camp sites, a swimming pool and pavillioned picnic areas for family reunions or gatherings of any type. It's fun to know that this is all just 30 minutes from either Wilkes-Barre or Scranton.

Nice well kept playground, clean pool, nicely placed picnic tables with fire rings. They have boat, canoe and kayak rentals in season. Nice lake for fishing.

Peaceful with plenty of space and picnic tables to go around. The pool is nice and the park has plenty of trails. We rented kayaks and had a nice rowing experience.

The park and the lake are really nice and clean. You can fish, camp, and swim here. The pool gets packed on the weekends during the summer months but its still clean and orderly. Its $4.00 per person for the day at the pool. The actual park is free.

This is a great state park for camping. Sites are beautiful. Wooded, private , quiet. The lake is nice because only electric motors are allowed. Lots of hiking trails. It's a good spot for day use too like Picnicking and fishing. No camp store here though, so bring what you need with you.

We love visiting Frances Slocum State Park. The grounds are beautiful and meticulously kept. From a family gathering to simply walking the dog you won't be disappointed here. Great fishing spot too! Highly recommended for a very inexpensive family fun day.

The park has a lake for fishing and paddle boats, rowboats and canoes to rent. Lots of pavillions and a swimming pool for a fun afternoon with the kids. There are lots of trails and plenty of parking, with an RV campground, too. Close to town (15 min. to Wilkes-Barre).

A very relaxing hiking trail with activities for family fun (picnicking, boating, etc). Ideal settings for large gatherings - family reunions, casual get togethers with fellow workers, etc.

My family and I have been going to FS for about three years now. We love their pool in the summer months. It's close to home and reasonably priced. In fact, this year we bought a family pass to the pool for $180. The staff are almost always pleasant. As the summer comes to a close, it's also a very nice place to boat, fish, or sight see.

This is a great place to just get out and forget work and your problems, just hang out and vegetate. Very nice, calm lake to go kayaking, or maybe hike the trails with your dog. I could spend hours here decompressing and just staring at nothing. Or everything.

Love paddleboating around the lake; trails and tables for picnics, as well. Other facilities, though no personal experiece with those.
