Had some time to kill, and boy am I glad I stopped by. Some fun stuff in display cases, but by far the main attraction is the aircraft. Have always loved the Warthog, and really was awesome to be up close to it.Super friendly staff happy to indulge.Gladly donated more than suggested, a first for me.

What a wonderful museum this is - free - with donations accepted. It was staffed by many volunteers who truly loved what they were doing and interested in answering our questions about military aircraft and the men who flew them. They took time with the young ones and shared stories with the seniors. Super clean and the displays were laid out in a very interesting fashion. Outside we were able to see many vintage aircraft up close, on the grounds of the museum. Very easy to get to. It's an amazing piece of history - The Wings of Freedom Museum.

The location sign is very small as well as the museum. Once inside there is a lot of history inside the museum. It was great.

Any military buff will love to see their displays of aircraft outside and cool stuff inside like weapons and aircraft models. There was no admission fee when I visited but they do ask for a donation. No problem. The parking lot is small and it's right on rt 611 south so be sure you look ahead for the entrance

We went here a few times with young children and with military vets. Everyone loved it. You can go on actual vehicles and airplanes. Worth a visit.

Great folks working there. They clearly have a passion for what they're doing, not just schlubs working for minimum wage (they may well be volunteers working for free). There's a bunch of cool planes on the grounds that they're happy to discuss and explain to idiots like me who know nothing about military aviation. I can't stress enough that it's worth your time to stop in as you're driving by. Just stop in, dangit.

My dad was stationed at Willow Grove Naval Airbase (the closed base is adjacent to the musuem), and I spent my childhood walking among the vintage aircraft at the base. This small but well run museum allows me to give my boys the same experience. We go a couple of times a year, and the staff continues to set up new exhibits and keep the displays interesting. The museum is free (donations accpeted), and the staff of retired navy and airforce personel is knowledgeable and attentive. If you are a WWII buff, want to see military aricraft, or desire to give your children a bit of aviation history, this museum is a must.

As you fly down 611 you may miss this charming little museum with its insights into Willow Grove and aircraft history. It's really worthy of a stop and a voluntary contribution. For me the highlight is a restored and rare two seat Me 262 - the famous German jet plane from WW II - what a place to find one.

Lots to looks at. Very knowledgeable personnel to volunteer info or answer questions. Interactive for kids and adults. Plan for a good two hours or even more.

At first glance, a visitor may think this museum doesn't have much ot offer. Once they are inside, their minds will change.Most of the museum's collection is from the 50's to the late 90's.,Only three a/c are located inside. These being a homebuiltm 7/8 scale Fokker D.V111, a 50's H-13G Sioux helicopter (MASH), andva Lockheed P-80 Shooting Star.Much of the museum's collection of artifacts are in glass cases. The artifacts are from WW 1 thur Vietnam. The Women in Aviation wasvvery interesting. Many cases are filled with models. With a number of models hanging from the ceiling. Also are missiles and enginns.The outside a/c are mostly navy fighters. One a/c is the Convair YF-2F 'Sea Dart'. Except for three a/c, all are open for a close inspection.Each has a stand with information. Four helicopters are outside. The other three a/c are viewed only weith a volunteer.The museum's volunteers werenvery helpful in answering any questions. During a visit, a visitor maybe given a booklet of each a/c. THis booklet must be returned bebore leaving the museum.The museum's web site may have certain a/c listed, but not at the museum.Photography is now allowed outside with the closing of a nearby military base.The museum's parking lotn is the length of the museum. The easiestn way to locate the museum is to look for a blue & white sign. The sign will say Delaware Valley Historial Aircraft Association. Admission is free. A donation of $5.00 is appreciated. A visit will take less an one hour. The outside may not show much, however think quality and detail.Hours are Saturday and Sunday. 10:30 to 4:00 P.M.
