It cost $50 for My family of 4 to ride the 10-15 min "hayride." There was no hay, only benches - which to some may be a plus but my kids were disappointed as were other children on the ride. Many light bulbs were burnt out throughout out the ride. The work shop was a few really old and lightly damaged moving elf figures around a small train set.I do not recommend.

I was very disappointed with my experience here. They charge $15/adult and $10/child. With these prices I expected a decent light show. The displays were very underwhelming! I could of had a better experience driving around my neighborhood. The light displays are very few and far between during the hayride , they stretch out they're props to make for a long boring 20 minute hayride. They should have condensed what few light displays they have intro a smaller 5 minute hayride to make it more enjoyable. The ride does not include cocoa or a snack, must purchase separately. The picture with Santa was also disappointing. Their Santa is not even close to the polished ones you see in the mall. Unprofessional staff, unprofessional looking pictures. I don't usually take the time to write reviews but felt obligated to write this to warn other families!

We have gone here for the Christmas light show and hayride, the fall hayride and corn maze, and have purchased our Christmas tree for 2 years now. Each time we have had a great experience. much better in my opinion than Linvilla, much less crowded! I will say that while their Christmas trees are pricey, they are all standing so you can see the shape perfectly. We have a limited space so it's hard to find a tree.

We were looking for a holiday excursion to do with the family and we came across the ad for the light display and hayride. We enjoyed the hayride and had fun getting a photo with Santa. My teenage daughters enjoyed the hot cocoa and fried Oreo. The bonfire was nice too. We enjoyed the low crowd since it was the first night it was open. The nativity was very nice. The staff was friendly and helpful. The train ride looked fun for young children

My family and I went to the Bates Motel and Haunted Hayride October 30th. We arrived around 7 and there were hardly any lines. We purchased the combo tickets with a 10 dollars off coupon. We decided to do the Hayride first. The wait was less than 5 minutes. When the tractor pulled up we all began to climb in and had to sit Indian style on top of scattered hay. The ride was very entertaining and lasted a decent amount of time. The actors do come out and touch you,tickle you and in my case kept getting my hood and cap pulled off several times. You can tell they took a lot of time and planning throughout the entire attraction. The special affects are amazing. The exhaust from the tractor was a bit overwhelming since we were like the 4th person in behind it. Each section seemed to have a different theme. When it was over I did stay wanting more. We then proceeded to the Haunted house. The wait was not very long. We went in with a group of 9 people that were together. The inside is really cool and did get a little confusing in one part getting out. The actors again do touch you. They also try to wait before coming out but sometimes if they already scared someone ahead of you, you won't be surprised. It was ok. Some parts reminded me of the Asylum at Dorney Park. I love getting scared and there was a few times they got me. Last we did the Corn Maze. We didn't have a wait at all. We started to walk in and it's not actually a maze. You walk through a guided path and pass different things and occasionally someone comes out. Sometimes the actors are right in front of you without trying to hide at all. There were times we would be walking a good minute without anyone scaring us or jumping out from places that you would expect one to. The props and things they have are amazing but the actors could had done better. It didn't help that we had 2 annoying pre teens in front of us that kept taking the fun away by being rude to the actors and saying dumb stuff back to them. Any good scare was wasted on them. I started to try to take longer walking to avoid being behind them. I think it could had been a lot better All in all it was a decent night. The 1 hr drive going was not bad. I would go maybe for the hayride again. There is a gift shop on site and they sell food at a very reasonable price. They have porta potties and parking is well organized. We were back in our car by 9. It was getting packed when we got out so we were glad we went at the time we did. If you decide to go next year use the discount coupons offered at party stores and or anyone of the special promotion nights like family night or college night so tickets won't cause as much. As for vip passes I don't think it's worth the price or even with taking the chance of purchasing it because as in our case we were in and out through all 3 attractions within 2 hrs.

Our night started with the corn maze. The girl in front of us broke down and wouldn't enter. It was awesome.The measure of any haunted event is the corn maze, or as one member if my party put it, "the corn maze is usually the lamest part." If true, the Bates Motel's corn maze sets the bar high. There were so many turns and scares to give us plenty of opportunities to laugh at the at above mentioned freakout.You could tell the staff has been doing this for a while and this attraction is their passion. Everything here was well designed with an attention to detail most haunted houses never approach, and there were so many animatronics. They even had a "dollar-scare" set-up where guests can manually control parts of the house.My only complaint is we left wanting more. We climbed off the hayride and searched the park for something to anchor us there. Picking up some funnel cake we lingered around the gift shop looking for a fire or anything to continue the night. It was a great experience and a must-do part of any fall calendar.

I was reluctantly excited to go to this haunted attraction. I have been to several other "haunted houses" and noticed the bigger ones seem to be less scary (probably due to so many other people almost ruining it for me). So, we went on a Thursday night and used the $10 off combo coupon. Even with the coupon, I feel ripped off. The lines were not bad, and we (husband and I) were able to get on the hayride after waiting just a few minutes. Like many other reviewers have said before me, the props and sights on the ride were neat to look at and creepy, and I admit, I did get scared a few times by the actors (who do touch - and tried to tickle?! - me). But, there were so many people on the truck (understanfable) that I felt I was going to get kicked in the head by a screaming teenage girl who was freaking out the entire time. When that was over, we checked out the haunted house, which I had higher expectations for since they make such a big deal about it.. It had some good scares, again, but like before, we were sent in with like 5 or 6 other people and I think this kind of ruined it for me. I made sure to go I first because eI do enjoy being scared- that's why I paid $30. That helped a little but it was so fast!! I think it lasted like 7 minutes. I would recommend Hotel of Horror (with Altered Nightmares) In Saylorsburg, PA (best ever) and I would say the small haunted house in Catawissa/Elysburg area run by their fire dept (I believe) if you are closer to central/northeast PA. They were much scarier and with the money and travel time.

I should have rated this a very long time ago, but only rating it now because me and a girlfriend are talking about doing it again. Simply put-- if you love to scream, run, and laugh, you have to go! We did all 3 attractions at night and we started with the hayride. Don't want to spoil it for you -- but it was worth the wait in line! I was told by EVERYONE on the hayride that if I don't scream, then they won't bother me. Well, what's the purpose of going to anything "haunted" if I sit still and act like I'm not having fun?!?!? So yes, I was probably the loudest thing out there and the one having the most laughs afterwards! My friend and I were so loud, other people followed us around because they thought we were fun to be with. Remember, it's rain or shine so dress accordingly because the lines are long -- BUT you are also entertained while you are waiting in line! Have fun :)

I visited during October 2012 (it wasn't listed under When did you visit?)for the haunted attraction. There haunted attraction makes Jason's woods seem like I haunted attraction for little kids. They had three attractions A haunted hayride, A corn maze, and haunted house (The Bates Motel) I was really impressed! All three attractions had awesome effects! The hayride is what the attraction is best known for, it has lots of jump scares.The corn maze wasn't really a maze, it was guided the only thing that scared me about the corn maze was that it involved a [SPOILER]. The haunted house was REALLY cool. What made it cool?, Was all awesome scenery and effects! If you would like to get a glimpse of what this attraction is like, it was featured on Travel Channel's America's Scariest Haunted Attractions. I highly recommend Arasapha Farm's Bates Motel and Haunted Hayride.

During the fall, this farm is more of a tourist spot, with it's corn maze and haunted house. During the rest of the year, it is a poultry and sheep farm. It's easy to pop in and grab a dozen eggs. They also shear the sheep, spin yarn, hand dye, and offer knitting classes. They also offer hay rides with horses, not a tractor. I'm proud that this farm is a local neighbor of mine.

Consistently ranked one of the top haunted attractions in the country, there's no question that Bates Motel and Haunted Hayride is incredible. Stellar actors and highly detailed make up the entirety of the three terrifying attractions on site.With discounts and lighter crowds during the week, the prices are right. Perfect for a date night, Arasapha is a yearly fall tradition for many on the east coast. (And from all over, really). If you haven't been before, you're in for one of the top haunted attractions in the world.

A visit to Arasapha at Halloween is an unforgettable experience for you and your family. It may be a bit intense for young children.

Our group of three adults went on Tuesday, October 23rd, 2013, a clear night about a week before Halloween. The site opens at 6:30pm. We showed up just after 7pm, and waited no more than a COMBINED 10 minutes for a ticket and ALL THREE of the attractions.Before I proceed to summarize each of the three attractions, I will preface by stating that I don't scare easily. I'm satisfied with the experience so long as the actors stay in character, and the attraction is visually and aurally appealing throughout. Undoubtedly, pyrotechnics, special effects, and a storyline can sweeten the experience immensely.HAYRIDEEasily the strongest of the three attractions, and probably the best single haunted attraction I've ever experienced. It's about a 25 minute ride through the woods, start to finish. There were SO many live actors. Since the path is a complete circle, I wouldn't be surprised of some of the actors migrated back and forth between sections... but it's difficult to say for sure. As the ride progressed through several well-constructed scenes, the actors were appropriately dressed and in character to match. The moonshine-brewing rednecks even smelled like moonshine! There were lots of surprises, lots of interaction, and even a good deal of light contact, but not too much... just enough to skeeve you out. Rest assured, the only thing that would cause you harm might be the overwhelming smell of diesel exhaust from the tractor.CORN MAZE/TRAILDespite a great deal of ambient light pollution that the trees otherwise filtered for the hayride, the engineers did a fantastic job in making sure the corn maze was chock full of surprises. Similar to the hayride, the trail progressed through several scenes with lots of live actors and animatronics. Very light fog (mostly natural last night, I believe) was used to disperse the light of strategically placed flood bulbs. So you'd be walking along, and before you know it, you're face to face with someone you never saw coming. Perhaps they were standing there the whole time!? The dispersion of light also enhanced any surprises as you rounded a corner into a floodlight that's facing into your path. Total time was about 15-20 minutes.HOUSEVery elaborate and impressive sets throughout. Some of the costumes were unbelievably fantastic. I couldn't believe one was even on stilts! Despite tight quarters, the actors managed to hide and sneak fairly successfully in the shadows. I was impressed how long the walkthrough was (15-20 minutes) despite how small the building looks.Overall, the amount of love and effort put into this project is outstanding. Even though I didn't find it particularly scary, I felt it was worth every penny... especially since I got to see my poor Russian mother-in-law curled up in a ball in the middle of the hay wagon. Evidently, she was horrified. They just don't have stuff like this in Russia... though I'm pretty sure they do have chainsaw-wielding bears.Tips:+ Do the hayride FIRST. It's the first of the three attractions to close each night.+ Go on a weeknight with clear weather, and try to get there before 7pm.+ Buy a combo ticket, NOT individual tickets to each attraction.+ Get the coupon from their website to save $10 per adult combo ticket, making the price $30 instead of $40. You will need to print one per person.+ As with any haunted attraction, the live actors are smart enough to know who to scare. It's what they're paid to do, and they love a good challenge. Cowering in the back or middle of your group will only make it worse. They will find you, and they will be relentless in doing so. If you truly cannot handle the thought of strangers getting in your face, and trying to scare you to the point of crying or losing control of bodily functions, then save your money and go rent Despicable Me 2 instead.+ If you're leading your group through the house or corn maze, you bear the responsibility of keeping a healthy buffer zone between you and the group in front of you. Not doing so will most certainly result in a less satisfying experience for your entire group. Do not cave in to the demands of the wussies in the back of your group! Hopefully the staff doesn't feed people through like cattle when it's crowded.+ Also, if you're leading your group, and you manage to make eye contact with an actor hiding ahead or next to you, give a subtle point "behind" (like point with your thumb into the front of your shoulder), so they might provide a surprise to someone behind you. You can enhance that surprise by momentarily drawing your friends' attention to the other side.

I don't typically write reviews, but I felt compelled to do so this time. We had our daughter's first birthday party here yesterday, & everything was PERFECT! The staff was so helpful, helped us bring stuff in from the car, etc. They had a separate picnic area set up just for us with our own trash can & a cooler available for us to use.They checked on us to see that everything was going well.They also made sure our group had our own private hayride.Five stars, totally worth the money, all the kids had a blast!! My two older ones (10 & 13) are asking when we can go back.Thank you Arasapha Farms!!

The Bate's Motel at Arasapha Farms is AWESOME! Hayride was one of the best I've been on. The haunted house and corn maze were really well detailed and expertly lit. Actors and costumes were pretty good too. Not too scary, but just a lot of fun!
