The 20-mile Perkiomen Trail follows the route of the Perkiomen Creek from Oaks to Green Lane Borough. It connects to the Schuylkill River Trail and the Audubon Loop. For most of its length, the "Perky," as it is known by many, uses the former rail bed of the Perkiomen Line of the Reading Railroad. The trail connects many public parks and historic sites, among them Lower Perkiomen Valley Park, Central Perkiomen Valley Park, Green Lane Park, John James Audubon Center at Mill Grove, Pennypacker Mills, and the local Skippack Township trail that continues to Evansburg State Park. The trail passes through the historic villages and towns of Arcola, Collegeville, Schwenksville, Spring Mount, and Green Lane, offering many town services for trail visitors. I have had many pleasant jaunts along this picturesque trail. It's especially nice during Autumn with the changing foliage.

Next to lovely creek, crosses a couple bike bridges, passes by Philadelphia Folk Festival grounds and passes by Spring Mountain ski resort. Ends at lovely Green Lane Park which has its own bike path.

nice trail for walking or running. But very few locations to park. Train in locked in in many locations by private communities and corporate campuses. Nonetheless, once on the trail, it is very peaceful.

This trail is great it goes right up to Schwenksville where my dad and his wife live. It follows the Perkiomen creek. I have walked it and bikes it and picked up friends who came up to see me at my dads. You can stop at a restaurant, grab a beer there are a couple of bars along the way.. its an urban suburban area.

Really enjoyed running on this trail. It was fairly flat, shaded and cool. Great to run along the river.

Lovely rail trail for hiking, biking or horseback. If you're cycling be aware of two things:- While there are some paved stretches, much of it is soft gravel which can make riding a road bike somewhat sporty. Better to be on a hybrid, mountain, or cyclecross bike.- When you ride by the Spring Mountain Ski Resort, you'll actually be going up or down the hill used for skiing. That's a 12% grade so it's a thrill going down but a climb going up. It is easier now that it's been paved.

This is one of my favorite trails! The trail is a mix of unpaved, paved, and grave terrain, which is perfect for my hybrid bike. The trail is well maintained, and the scenery is beautiful along the Perkiomen Creek. I like to average about a 20 mile ride, so this trail is perfect. You can do more or less, depending on your level or time restraints. I definitely recommend this trail!

I frequent this trail between Collegeville and Valley forge Park quite often. It is a great stretch of trail. Terrain varies from macadam to dirt/stone. A large portion of this section of trail is tree lined and shaded which makes it nice even on hot sunny days. There are no real steep hills which make it great for families with younger children. My only complaint is occasionally you will run across some people who decide to walk or ride 2 or 3 wide block the traffic in the other direction.

I've been on the Perkiomen Trail a number of times on a bike but ran it for the first time recently. The trail is well maintained even on the unpaved section. It has some challenging sections, but in general the grades aren't overly steep. The trail runs next to the Perkiomen Creek in many spots and much of the trail is shaded, which is nice on hotter days. This is a very nice trail for running, walking or biking.

Came across this charming scenic trail as we were driving by so we decided to stop and check it out. The path is very spacious and it leads up to a beautiful man made waterfall/dam. It is a great place for taking pictures with its water and tall trees. There were also lots of people walking on it the day we went.

On a beautiful day, the Perkiomen Trail is a great way to get out and enjoy nature. Although we have walked on it before, my favorite is to go biking.

Winds through several towns and parks. Flat for the most part and great for cycling and dog walking. Patrolled by rangers makes for a safe visit.

It is clean, flat, and along the creek. There are places you can exit the trail and be at a restaurant within 100 feet of the trail. So pretty. But it can be busy with people and bikes.

The trail is great for biking, running, or walking. If you'd like, you could take it to a connecting trail and travel from Green Lane to the Philadelphia Art Museum. It is well maintained trail in the suburbs of Philly. Also, there are several places to stop and eat as well as places to stop and take in the scenery. Also there are a few side trails that go off of the beaten path to the creek.
