I took my mother to see the Glenn Miller Orchestra and felt like we went back in time! The architecture and ambiance is just as I remembered as a child. The snack bar serves the usual theater fare but at 1970's prices! With a variety of different live shows travelling through you're sure to find something you would enjoy. It's well worth the visit!

Was here Saturday night for live show, "Lonesome River Band" and I sit back from the stage about 30 yards and the only speakers I could see and hear were up front on both sides and top center, wasn't enough sound coming from them to carry thru-out the whole place. Beautifully renovated old theater. Would love to return again and again, if I knew the sound system was corrected? Great location for a night out.

The Capitol Theatre presents the productions of Chambersburg Community Theatre (such as Peter Pan) and the Chambersburg Ballet Theatre Company (such as Sleeping Beauty) as well as their own events in a beautifully restored 1927 auditorium with fully modernized and convenient ticketing system, seating, concessions and parking. What's not to like?!

Took my 9yo daughter to see Peter Pan, and we both had a great time. I ordered far enough in advance to score front row seats to see Peter Pan fly, and the show was great. Seats are comfortable. The concession stand line was long but moved quickly, and the popcorn and drinks were both good and priced right. Candy is only $1...can't get that at the movies! We'll definitely be going back.

As mentioned in the title, my family and I saw the ballet performance of Sleeping Beauty. The show was great, the old theater is fantastic, and the concessions were priced right. Nice little "home town" theater, with lots of hometown, as well as international talent. We will be going back.

We were just here to see the CCT presentation of Annie. The theater is clean and the seats are comfortable. CCT did an excellent job with the production. The actors and actresses were professional and did an amazing job.Great place to introduce the kids to live theatrical productions and support the local arts.

A beautiful complex in the second block of south Main Street. Great community theater productions 4 times a year and other scheduled entertainment throughout the year.

We saw the Sound of Music, performed by local kids drama group. They did a great job. The theater also offers ball room dance lessons and often has big name entertainers perform. The tickets are reasonably priced. We have attended many functions in the last 20 years and seldom are we disappointed

Capitol Theater does a fantastic job in recruiting interesting shows. The theater has been renovated however the seating is very uncomfortable for extended shows.

If you are into ageless beauty, great entertainment, reasonable prices, or simply a great night for a special occasion this is the place. They have a nice variety of entertainment, the inside is beautiful, and is the perfect spot for a special surprise for that certain someone in your life. Is for all ages, and it's clean enjoyment for all. I would recommend it highly. Give it a try

I've been to the Capitol Theatre a few times for different shows or meetings. It's a very nice addition to the community! The Theatre is kind of nice looking inside, a few things look cheap, like the fake marble painted on the walls. The seats are almost too close to other rows of seats, causing harder access to seats in the middle of the row. There is a concession stand on-site, but it only sells things like popcorn, candy bars, and soda. Parking is a challenge since the theatre is located on Main Street. You can park behind the theatre in the church parking lot, or further down the road at CVS, but park at your own risk (CVS isn't in the greatest location). Of the shows the theatre has, the Comedy and Magic Spectacular is probably the best (it usually takes place in March). Even though it has its faults, the Capitol is still a nice place to have in the city.

I recently had the opportunity to see a show at the Capitol Theatre in Chambersburg PA, and what a beautiful theatre it was! Located on Main Street, the theatre was built in 1927 and still retains the charm of that era, though it has been renovated. It now has 852 seats in the main theatre and the balcony. There are a variety of shows offered there for every age group. We saw Herman's Hermits Starring Peter Noone and the show was fantastic!!! The sound system was great. My friends and I belong to Peter's fan club and attend many shows all over the U.S. every year and this venue was one of the nicer ones that I have been to. Chambersburg is a very small town and since we were only there for the evening, I did not have the chance to see much of it, but it seemed to be a nice little town. Like all small towns, parking was a little bit of an issue. There is a parking lot for theatre patrons, but it was full by the time we got there. We did find a spot on Main Street, very close to the theatre. No need to feed the parking meters after 5pm. Just arrive a little early to get a space in the parking lot. I would highly recommend this theatre and hope I have the opportunity to visit there again.

The theatre is beautifully maintained and offers a variety of shows/programs for the whole family to enjoy. Reasonably priced.
