Ten Gallon Hat was a perfect place to go for a winters (Sunday) afternoon. The building is beautiful and the interior is even better. The wine tastings are in the basement. The tasting room has a beautiful bar and stone wall decor. The staff downstairs was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. They give you a pretty good amount of wine for the tasting. I tried all the whites and one red. The wine overall was extremely good. I recommend the Sheriffs Daughter, Cranberry, and Red Raspberry. The only issues I had were the prices ... At 8 dollars a tasting without getting a glass to take home is extremely questionable. A normal tasting at any good winery is around 5 dollars(add 2 for the glass). The wine is about 3 to 6 dollars over priced. The wine is extremely good, but one can buy known wines for less. There bottles range from 15 to 18, which normally are 12.95 to 15. The upstairs has a wonderful bar and sitting space for a nice dessert or a little sandwich or cheese platter. There cheesecake was amazing and goes great with a Pinot or Red Raspberry. The atmosphere is extremely war nice colors and a warm center piece fireplace. Overall, I will definitely will be back very soon, but hope they develop a wine club so we can buy more bottles at a cheaper price.

Nice wine, neat building, but unlike many wineries I won't come back because upon going outside to enjoy a cigar with a glass of wine our glasses were confiscated and told we couldn't have our wine and cigar outside on their steps because "I said so" - no formal reason. I would have happily understood if their was a concern, legally or morally, but instead got a my way or the highway attitude from one of the attendants. I have visited many wineries, with mostly my guy friends who typically aren't into wine and I was trying to introduce them to the culture with great wine and cigar pairings, this experience ruined it for them and they were so turned off by the experience that they may never do wine tasting again. It was a loss for wine tasting in Chester County and all parties involved and I do not recommend this winery based on their hospitality.

We've been to 10 Gallon Hat before the new barn was ready. Loved the winery back then and now it's even better! We had a tasting downstairs and then met the rest of our group upstairs to enjoy lunch and a couple bottles of wine! Ps... try the cabernet... it's great! Lunch was far better than we could've expected. Great visit and we will be back for sure.

We visited the winery on Sunday afternoon and had a great time. Stephanie was very friendly & accommodating. We had a group of 7. Three generations of wine drinkers including a person in a wheelchair. So we sat a table for our tasting and between all of us tried all 11 wines. My favorite was the Cabenet Sauvignon, but they all were very good. After the tasting we went upstairs to the beautiful bar area. Really enjoyed hanging out with a glass of wine and a delicious baked brie. We will definitely be back to check out the entertainment.

With all of the wonderful attractions in the Brandywine Valley area, I can honestly say that our visit to Ten Gallon Hat Winery was one of the highlights of our trip to this region. They had just moved into their new facility, built upon an old barn, six weeks earlier, and it’s just stunning. The soaring ceiling, wonderful old wood, huge fireplace and stonework provide a real “Wow” factor. The large space has several cozy seating areas along with attractive tables and chairs. You will be very comfortable here, and will feel very welcome, too, as Hillary, one of the owners, is super friendly and rightfully proud of this beautiful winery.Happily, the wines do justice to such magnificent surroundings. The six we tasted were all excellent, far superior to any others we tried in the area. We ended up buying a bottle of pinot grigio, cranberry, and raspberry (you must try this one, even if you don’t think it would appeal to you – it’s amazing). We aren’t “red wine people” so didn’t include any of those in our tasting, but Hillary assured us these were outstanding, as well. So stop in and give both your eyes and your taste buds a treat at this impressive new winery.

A group of us traveled to Chadds Ford, Pa to the Ten Gallon Hat Winery. The renovated building is awesome. Downstairs is the wine tasting. They have a very knowledgeable and friendly staff. You get to taste 6 wines of your choice for a very reasonable price. The wines range from red, white and fruit. Upstairs is a bar with a limited menu. The room is very open and is beautifully decorated with great artwork. They have entertainment on the weekend. What a great find in Chadds Ford!

My husband and I stopped in at the Ten Gallon Hat Winery (just a mile or so past the Chadds Ford Winery). The renovated building is awesome, a great venue. Bar with a limited dining menu available is upstairs and tasting room downstairs. We both did a tasting of 6 each of the red, white and fruit wines. Enjoyed all of them! Will return, especially for live entertainment on Saturdays

We headed out in search of some place for a wine tasting on Sunday. Had one place in mind, but decided to pass. So we decided to continue down the Baltimore Pike and ended up at the Ten Gallon Hat Winery. They were not very busy. So we went inside and decided to have two tastings so that we could share and sample all the wines. The person helping us was very good. She knew her stuff and was very friendly. My wife took a lot of notes as we went along. We are certainly not wine experts, but we know what we like. On the top of our list was their cranberry wine. That is something we like a lot and their offering was nice. So we pulled out of the place with a bottle of the cranberry and a bottle of the Barbera. All in all, it was a great stop. They have a brand new facility that looks very nice. They also serve cheese plates and sandwiches. That might be something we try on another trip there. It was kind of funny to us to see the name Ten Gallon Hat on a winery near Philadelphia. We are traveling from Houston, so it particularly struck us as a weird choice. We didn't have the presence of mind to ask about the name, but maybe we will remember next time.

This winery just expanded and is beautiful and immaculate. We met the owner and she is very excited about her winery. The restaurant looks lovely. Unfortunately we did not eat here. I enjoyed the Moscato very much. Good luck to the owners.

We were pleasantly surprised to find this new winery during one of our annual local winery tours. I prefer small local wineries where the staff and owners are friendly and inviting. We enjoyed our wine tasting and talking to the owner. We liked the Zin and the Barbera and took home a few bottles of each. We were invited to stay, have a glass of wine, and take a look at the newly renovated barn which now houses them. They are looking to have music and events in the future, can't wait!

The best tasting wine from an area winery. There are many beautiful local wineries. Unfortunately the wine that all pour does not match the ambience. On the contrary 10 gallon provides both yummy wine in a low key comfortable setting. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The only tip I'd provide to the management is to beef up the cheese plates. A few strips of cheese with crackers is just not enough. I will be return very soon. Try the cab is delicious!

Generally speaking the wineries in the area provide an enjoyable lively atmosphere and a nice day. Most also have overpriced wine that terrible. That is not the case here. Fantastic renovation of the property and a solid line up of wine. Well done!!

Stopped in today for the first time. What a lovely building! The ambience is just delightful. We tasted a variety of wines. Both owner and staff were very friendly and helpful. My husband's favorite was the Cab Sauvignon. Mine was the Zin. We also enjoyed the Pinot Grigio and the Cranberry. Highly recommend a visit.

After a dissapointing experience at the winery up the road, we decided to stop at the Ten Gallon Hat Winery when we drove by. It was excellent! They poured great wines, dry and sweet. The owner was there and took us on a tour of the soon to open, beautiful tasting room / event area next door. I highly recommed a stop here!!

We always enjoy visiting new wineries and we are so glad we stumped upon this one. The tasting room, while temporary pending completion of the main barn, was so charming. The wine was excellent and we really enjoyed the hospitality. Chadds Ford has a new premier winery.
