My wife booked us a day in the spa as part of our early anniversary stay at the American Club. Together we had a couplse massage and in addition I had the cranial sacral therapy and my wife went for a manicure and pedicure. We chose to experience the spa facilities for basically the entire day (9am-4pm). At 9am I had the cranial sacral therapy which is a light pressure/touching therapy to help address the bones of the head, spinal column and sacrum to relieve pain. I did enjoy the service, but I am not sure it really helped in any way. After that my wife and I sat by the relaxation pool and waterfall which was nice although small given how many people they service in a day. Then at 11:30 we had our couple massage which was great, but the atmosphere was less than what we expected. The room had a "fireplace" which was basically a tiled inset in the wall with fake candles in it! I would have expected if they were going to put a fireplace in the room that is would at least be gas or even an electric fireplace in a spa of this quality. After our couples massage we had a few hours before my wife's manicure and pedicure so we decided to have lunch at the spa which ended up having an odd feel to me. Again this whole facility is pretty small given how many people they service so when we were to eat lunch they escorted us to the eating area which had the feel of a cafeteria and it was in a weird spot. The eating area is upstairs right off the main entrance so you have a bunch of people in robes walking around where people come to check in and you feel out of place. Also the area is too small to service the amount of people they had with many people having to wait for a table or eating on a couch. The area for the manicure and pedicures is also very small! I walked it to see my wife while she was having her services done and I felt like I walked in to a regular nail shop in a strip mall. I felt like I was going to trip over people getting pedicures. Not very private and again not what you would expect.I guess the high ratings are due to the vast amount of different services you can get. It must not be because of the atmosphere. We just expected something more grand.

Spent the weekend at the Carriage House Water Spa with my husband. We checked in at 4:30 and room wasn't ready had to wait in lobby. Once in our room we found that the robe sizes that we requested on the form they had us fill out were wrong and we had no sandals for spa. The spa looks a lot nicer in the pictures on Saturday it was very busy we were never able to get a seat in the pool and hot tub area since the people stayed for hours and there were only 6 loungers. There was a nice area in the Women's locker room to lounge but I came there to spend time with my husband so I didn't use them. The roof top fireplace and hot tub was in a small room with a few skylights and 6 lounge chairs. Spent most of the time in room which was ok. Saturday night we went to Black Wolf Run for dinner and was disappointed in the food. The only thing I enjoyed was the continental breakfast and the evening snacks with beer and wine. The staff was friendly but it would of been nice if we had someone show us around the spa. Spent over $1200. for the weekend with 1 spa treatment for my husband and I.

I went here with a few friends and it was wonderful! I don't go to the spa often but this was decadent! The staff was friendly and very professional and attentive. I had a pedicure that was marvelous. Afterwards I spent a while in the women's locker room with some friends. It's so comfortable and beautiful! Robes and lounge chairs, a great hot tub and sauna. We didn't want to leave! I heard that you can pay $45 just to use the pool and locker rooms, even if you didn't have any other services I would highly recommend doing that!

I'm not one to visit a spa frequently, but I brought my wife to celebrat our wedding anniversary. There were couples, groups of girlfriends, mother/daughter groups and expecting couples enjoying the facilities and this place makes everyone feel relaxed and comfortable. There is a vast menu of treatment options to choose from and when making reservations, the staff provided helpful tips to facilitate selections. Everyone was welcoming and friendly and created the right atmosphere for a relaxing weekend. The treatment rooms are comfortable and the staff is very professional. The common areas and locker rooms are clean and inviting. We can't wait to return and would recommend this to anyone!

I treated myself to a spa day when my husband and I were visiting the American Club for the weekend. The spa was very nice, and all staff were very attentive and helpful. It is quite pricey, but I think it was worth it.

My Best Friend and I went here for the girlfriends getaway package for my 40th birthday. We were impressed with all except the fact that the front desk did not really explain things all that well when we checked in. We arrived on Saturday afternoon and tried using the spa which we were declined because they said it was busy and we would need to purchase a service to go in. We had two services purchased for the next day. So had we known, we could have split them up, one for each day or we would have just spent one night instead of two.

What a wonderful spa experience. The service was wonderful and the services provided were wonderful too. The amenities are top rate and it is just as relaxing to enjoy the roof whirlpool and fireplace and relaxation pol as it is to get a massage. Food is available and they have great products.

I just submitted a review under The American Club singing the praises of this beautiful spa but felt I needed to do another one as this was one of the best spas I have ever went to. I booked an 80 minute aromatherapy massage with Barbara and it was heaven! She started me out with a frankincense oil foot bath while we picked out my personalized scent for the actual massage. From there, it got even better. She loosened knots that others have been unable to do. Truly, she was amazing! Will certainly return to this spa and of course Barbara! The spa itself is picturesque and all those amazing water features! You will not be disappointed!

I have been to numerous spas both local and worldwide - this is my favorite of all!I love being able to lounge in my robe all day and never have to worry about getting dressed until ready to go out.The rooftop has chaise lounges, a lounge area, a long fireplace, coed whirlpool, and an outdoor flowery deck. This was a great place to chill out after treatments. The pool area with the waterfall has a nice waternoise that is great for not having to talk to anyone and just relax. The lockeroom has chaise lounges, whirlpool, cold pool, dry sauna, and steamroom - so many options. The waiting areas were always supplied with ice water, towels, and other handy items. It was great to not have to tip - it is all included in the price. It is also nice that all of the products that are used are written on a little menu sheet so not only is there feedback or recall but you can also easily purchase the items you like.

I have been to the Burr Ridge location a couple of times, so I was curious what the mothership would be like. Maybe this would be a lot better?I was staying at The American Club for a few days, so I *had* to try out this place. I booked for the 80 minute Signature Massage and the 80 minute Bamboo Contouring Drizzle. Both were good.I recommend coming in at least an hour before your scheduled appointment to take advantage of the facilities, try the sauna, take a quick dip in the cold water, lounge around or whatever your heart desires.Their staff was very polite, but towel pick-ups were a bit slow. I was there from 12n-5pm (yeap), I saw the same towel on the bathroom floor from the time I arrived till the time I left. The place looks a lot cleaner than the one in Burr Ridge, no signs of water damage. But, the same sentiment as the other location, I'm not totally blown away. For the price of their services, why even bother coming out here? It's a historical location that's what; you're basically in a Kohler interactive-museum-tour-spa-experience. Like most tours, they're only one-time experiences... (unless you have an out of town guest and you're obligated to show them around)

I went for a girls spa trip and was very excited; I had heard fantastic things about the Kohler Spa. Unfortunately, it didn't come close to what I was hoping. The spa is located in the basement level of the building and while they try to disguise that, it still feels like a basement - low ceilings and slightly dungeon-like. A few sitting areas are worn and tired-looking and need to be updated. Specifically, the sitting area outside of the treatment rooms might possibly be one of the most depressing spots in the spa. Poorly lit that tried to be passed off as mood-lighting, tired-looking decor, and the dungeon feel did not appeal to anyone to want to sit. It felt/looked like a 1982 doctors office waiting room. The vanity area of the ladies locker room is in major need of a cleaning and an update. The hair dryers and styling tools were dirty, worn, and not in working condition. Vases of artificial orchids graced the vanity & locker room and not only did they look artificial, but they had thick layers of dust. The common areas were nice and updated but again, small areas and the low ceilings just did not make it relaxing. Not to mention, the noise level can easily increase with more than 6 people in the area at a time. The common waterfall pool is pretty but very loud which was not relaxing. I ended up staying in my room and would go down to the spa in time for my services. The "rooftop" deck is too hyped. The indoor space contains a whirlpool but again, the area is small so there are only a few lounge chairs to use and even then, everyone is on top of each other and it starts to feel claustrophobic. The saving grace was the staff and the quality of services offered. All my services were topnotch and were executed with professionalism and attention to detail. The staff was friendly and kind and had good work ethic. If you want to enjoy a spa weekend away, I cannot recommend this place. If you are accompanying a spouse who has come to play golf and the spa is your activity, you'll be happy. If you want to enjoy a private or girls spa weekend, consider Sundara (in the WI Dells). Kohler Waters needs to go on a fact-finding mission to Sundara and study the decor and presentation.

Destination Kohler: The American Club – Kohler, WIBy Kelly RodenbergExpect the unexpected. Kohler, WI – population 2,001 – is not likely to be an obvious spa destination choice. With its rolling farmland, Holstein cows and numerous cheese shops, Kohler is equally as widely known for their faucets and fixtures.Enter the Village of Kohler. First glance, you will wonder why on earth your initial visit took so long. Looking to break away from this thing called life, my girlfriend and I recently made the 5-hour trip from Minneapolis/St. Paul. A place I’d only read about years before, this stop is definitely a place you will want to see in person. Taking up residency in The Carriage House (with the spa located on the main level), we were able to move freely about the facility in our robes and slippers. In awe of their level of Customer Service, we quickly became accustomed to doors being opened and greetings of “Good Afternoon, Ms. Olson / Ms. Rodenberg.” Our indulgent spa treatments included signature massages and facials, as well as a beautiful sunset dinner at Cucina and a subsequent relaxed burger night at Horse & Plow. Complimentary on demand shuttle service made all their points of interest accessible, not to mention the perfect no hassle weekend we had been dreaming about.Don’t let this destination spa fool you. It is as much for giggly girlfriends, as it is for romantic couples, as it is for gifted pro golfers. ¬¬¬¬¬Whistling Straits - home of the 2015 PGA Championship and 2020 Ryder Cup - tells me they have far more to offer than meets my naked eye. One of only a handful worldwide spas to receive the prestigious Forbes Five-Star Spa rating, I’m willing to bet my girlfriend and I were not alone in departing with a firm pinky pact vowing to return.

I've been 4 times over the years and always look forward to the Waters Spa every time I come to Kohler. I love the signature Hollyhock scent and the lovely welcome the spa staff provide. The robes feel fantastic as well. I like to sit in a lounge chair and listen to the waterfall before my spa services. I've had the full body massage and the 30 minute facial. The gentle touch of the spa technicians is like no other! I hate when there is too much steam on the face during a facial, and I was very pleased with the entire experience! Would love to try some of the more exotic treatments some time!!

From the moment you walk in the door, you begin to relax. The staff welcomes you in quiet, soothing voices. There is a lounge area with soft music and cozy chairs. The air seems different - clean, fresh, heavenly. There is an excellent steam room and sauna. The pool room has a roaring wall waterfall and perfect temp pool. I had the "Lavender Rain" hydro therapy massage. It was unique from any other massage, utilizing warm water. I feel the calmness wash over me, recalling my visit. I look forward to going back.

I loved this place! The spa is probably one of the nicest, if not the nicest, I have been to. Loved all of the different options for the pools.I had a pregnancy massage and it was fantastic. The masseuse had a big cradle of foam for my belly, so that I was able to lie face down. It felt wonderful! Also, my masseuse gave me a little rubber ducky at the end of the massage with best wishes for my baby. It was do sweet! We had lunch in the spa, which was healthy and light. All of the little touches made a difference in the Carriage House: little treats laid out in the lobby at night, chocolates in the room, and the complimentary tea service. So good!
